2017/03/01Ume Sushi is a relatively small restaurant with cozy seating for about 28, with a few booths and mostly 2-top tables. I was there at lunchtime, and the restaurant was almost full. I ordered one of the Maki Lunch specials, which came with 6 pieces of salmon roll, 6 pieces of shrimp tempura, 6 California rolls, and started with a small salad and miso. I have to be honest and say that this was not my favourite sushi lunch. The salmon had a nice soft, buttery texture, but didn’t have much flavour. The tempura shrimp and avocado, were ok. The nori for all the rolls was a bit chewy, and the rice didn’t seem packed as nicely as other places. Overall the meal wasn’t bad, but I have had better.
