We were here on a Saturday evening and the place was packed!! They had a private event going on in the larger part of the restaurant and only has a few tables to spare for walk-in guests. The guy at the front desk was initially reluctant to give us a table and only conceded after considerable coaxing and after we pointed out a couple of empty tables in the corner!!Except for the guy at the front desk, the rest of the staff seemed polite and courteous. This was our first time trying Persian cuisine so we didnt quite know what to expect. We saw a lot of pomegranate on the menu though. We had bademjan kebob , which is roasted eggplant stuffed with a paste of walnuts, herbs and pomegranate sauce. The dish was quite new and interesting, with the pomegranate sauce rendering it a nice tangy flavour. Overall a good choice. We also had the Fesenjoon, which is a traditional chicken stew. The only negative? This was also cooked in a gravy of walnuts, herbs and pomegranate sauce! The dish tasted almost exactly like our appetizer and we ended up having too much of the same bunch of flavours. We had a buttermilk drink to go with it and overall it was quite an interesting and tasty meal. The food arrived quickly and liked and tasted fresh.Surprisingly there were no desserts at all on the menu and the lady waiting on us didn’t mention any either!A good place for some traditional fare, especially if you haven’t tried Persian cuisine before.
