  2019/03/17As we headed north on Sunday through Richmond Hill, we stopped at Sunrise Cafe for lunch. The restaurant seats about 40, including 5 seats at what was a bar probably at the previous establishment. Almost all the tables were occupied when we arrived around 12:45 pm. Four pages out of the seven page menu are about breakfast. Many of those items are available all day. SWBMO chose the Chicken Clubhouse ($9.49) from the Sandwiches and Crepes section. For $2.99 she added an order of Onion Rings for us to share. The sandwich had nicely seasoned and grilled chicken breast along with the usual clubhouse sandwich fixings. She said it was a very good sandwich, although she would have liked a bit more tomato. The onion rings were piled high, and were deep fried to a crisp golden brown. There were 11 different omelette choices, and I picked the Colorado Omelette. It was like a supercharged western omelette, which usually has ham, green pepper and onion. Now add in bacon, breakfast sausage, and cheddar. This was a big, tasty, meaty, salty, filling omelette. I picked the tomatoes as my side (instead of home fries or baked beans). Service was good (one person capably handled all the customers), prices were good, and these customers were very satisfied.

  Last February at my first visit to Sunrise Cafe and Grill I was told by the manager on duty, RICCO to leave. Why? The purse that fell out of my mouth while sharing travel stories with my waitress apparently landed with quite a THUD and caught his attention, there was no place for someone like me there that day. I was the only guest in Sunrise Cafe & Grill in Richmond Hill, I hadn’t behaved inappropriately and had a lovely repore with the server who took care of me.Needless to say, I was infuriated with what happened. I paid my bill and left in a calm, collected fashion – absolutely boiling inside. I could have tossed a brick I was so mad. Discrimination. Fair and square. Homophobic cafe manager Ricco didn’t want a flaming poof under his roof.Turn off the flame? I continue to fan the flames of faggotry wherever I go and werq and turn and hon-hon-honey.Last week I was reviewing my Facebook security settings and found a folder of message requests. The screenshot I included is from my Sunrise Cafe and Grill server. It has been about a year and a half since the incident happened but finding this message was the best thing to happen all week. It has put the sliver of doubt to rest that my behaviour had been deserving of such treatment – a suggestion that a family member had made (even though they weren’t present) after leaving an angry review on the Sunrise Cafe & Grilll Facebook page.Thanks for reaching out via Facebook Becca!I appreciate your support.#FURICCO

  Great place for brunch! Consistent food and good selection of items to choose from. A great local run business. Better value than the other options for brunch in the area.

  Just moved to the area , we loved the food with my family on the weekend , they have great menu. Very reasonable pricing and the service was very good as well being very busyWill go back again
