Well… had been here before and the food was decent (I’ve lived in Japan for 9 years) but expensive. So, it was my birthday and my family was taking me out for a ‘treat’. Boy, the service was extremely slow: we waited for more than an hour for our food and my sister waited for more than 90 minutes before being told that they couldn’t make her sushi dish! Local Oakville friends are very mixed about Mye in regards to the value and service. For the money, go to August 8th. Food isn’t as well prepared or tasty but you do get what you ask for the service is consistent. My advice to Mye which likes to sell itself as ‘authentic Japanese’: your service and value is not even close to any izakaiya I’ve been to in Japan. Gambatte kudasai….
Usually I do AYCE sushi, but today I decided to treat myself to some quality a la carte sushi. I was disappointed, for the price you pay at this joint, the service was slow and the food was like a grocery store sushi, and the rolls were junior sized.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect here. I came here with my daughter earlier this week, and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was very polite and informative. Usually I prefer more an all you can taste menu along the lines of a Spoon and Fork, and initially I was a little put of by the menu which is on the smaller side. However, once I started ordering I realized what this place is about. A fairly decent sushi presentation, and amazing freshness. The red dragon roll at Mye 2 is the best I have ever had. I paid slightly more than I would have in an all you can eat spot, but the freshness of the food was well worth it. The salmon was amazing in every way possible. Even the Miso soup just tasted different/better. I will be coming back. Great service!
