By the the WORST. My veal was deep fried to death so much alli could taste was the oil. Sauce is awful watered down no flavor. Service was horrible just over an hour to get our food with no offer of a second drink.(no the restaurant wasn’t packed) overall I would never go back. My wife is Italian and couldn’t even eat her food she sent it back and opted for a sub on the way home.
I wouldn’t return. I am not impressed with the food, the price or the service. Oakville has so many amazing restaurants, I can’t see this place lasting. There was a reason it was dead when I went in at peak dinner hour.
The food is beyond delicious and actually Italian. I say this as a European and someone who has eaten all over Italy. My mother and I went in on a whim one day looking for lunch and we basically stared at each other in shock while eating. Yeah the service isn’t anything amazing but the food more than makes up for it. I was astonished to find a place like this in Oakville.
Good food-Bad Service. We really enjoyed our meal but the service, unfortunately, was lacking. As soon as we arrived we were not welcomed but rushed to a table – got the feeling our arrival was inconveniencing the staff somehow. Our waitress was not the least bit friendly and left us alone for long periods of time. The restaurant was only half full so I am not sure why the staff seemed unhappy.We have been here before and would say that the service has definitely declined.
Return to Ritorno. The owner is such a lovely person but she must instil her servers with more of her friendly manners.After an expensive dinner here I will say that the food was ok but the atmosphere and server were lack lustre.I won’t rush back because of this – I hate having to feel that I am a nuisance and that the server is reluctant to open her mouth. If you hate serving so much, do us a favour and find something else to do that doesn’t require a smile and being hospitable.Noisy and crowded on a Saturday night. Maybe better during the week?Be ready to spend – higher bill than expected for this calibre of resto.
Just about the worst meal I’ve ever had!. This was not our first visit to Ritorno and I must say I’ve always been happy with my food and service but last night was awful on all counts. Service was spotty and the two waitresses that seemed to be serving what looked like a full restaurant were rushed off their feet. Our food took forever. We ordered bruschetta which took 45 minutes to arrive and then two plates of risotto. My friend had the risotto con funghi and I ordered the risotto primavera. Hers was ok but mine turned out to be a large plate of boiled rice. No salt, very few if any vegs and no flavour at all….. it was just disgusting. When the waitress realised something was wrong she offered to bring me something else so I ordered a pasta dish she suggested because I did not want to be there all night. The pasta was fine but not what I really wanted to eat that night. The worst of this is that the manager did not come over to apologise, no offer of a free dessert or coffee and I paid full price for a meal I did not really like. Too bad because Ritorno had been one of my favourite places but we won’t be going back.
The food was ok but the service was terrible. I’ve been a few times, the first few times was great but as time went on the service has slipped. I will not be returning.
