I went here with my Sheridan Theater group before a performance. BTW- A Main Stage series for 3 high quality theater productions is a fabulous deal for around $25 / show.Atmosphere- Simple Italian with a Nonna wall ( I love it!) Anyone can bring in a small framed photo of the special woman in or lives and they will put it up on the wall.Food- We never have a lot of time before the show so no apps or desserts usually. This time I had to add something. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana- It came in a cast iron fry pan with sauce and cheese and it was delicious. It had a lot of cheese , sauce was good. However, it strangely did not come with anything as a side. I ordered a Caesar salad to go with it and was not disappointed. I liked the light dressing and with shaved parmigiana , a lot of thick bacon pieces and they grated cheese upon request too. Others at my table ordered : Veal – extremely tender and full of flavour, Salad with figs- beautiful salad. Both of these dishes came with wonderful fresh home made spaghetti but both friends agreed the sauce was meh! ………almost tasteless. Pasta like this should be augmented with some spices ( basil, garlic? ) My third friend ate the whole meal in between all her mmmm’s. She had a good sized piece of succulent salmon with butternut squash risotto and she said she loved every bit of it. Also to note- I had a mango and soda drink and I would recommend trying it to anyone. Our food came out quick enough to allow us for dessert, however, no choices jumped out at us. We also could not imagine paying $10 for cannoli.Service- Lovely waitress. We told her we were going to the theater and she had bills ready quickly. she said mango drink was the best and I would order it again for sure.Impression- I would go back and try something else. Not because I didnt like my meal but because i saw so many other choices i would like to try.
What’s Happened To Ritorno?. We took friends to Ritorno expecting a good meal as we have had there in the past. What a disaster. It was very busy so we had to wait to be seated but expected that. We had not expected to wait another 30 minutes to have our order taken. Our main courses arrived 40 minutes later after rather mediocre appetizers and some mistakes with the drinks. The steak was well done not medium so we sent it back. Meanwhile 3 of us proceeded with our meals which were nicely presented but bland. The veal was so thin and overcooked I thought for a moment I was eating bacon. We had finished our dinners and the table was cleared and the steak dinner had not made a reappearance. At one point the waitress without checking brought a plate of bread to the woman waiting for her dinner but the effort was wasted since she can’t eat gluten. At last after 45 embarrassing minutes we asked to have the steak dinner put in a take out box and left as soon as we could get out of there. This was probably our worst experience ever in a restaurant!
Horrible staff. Went for a dinner and was incredibly dissapointed.Waitress was unattentive and rude. Rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a substitution. Food was average in quality but high in price. Veal was greasy, Gorgonzola sauce was sticky. Biscotti was soft and was to high in cocoa content.Wont be back for a second chace
