DO NOT SELL BOOKS HERE!!They took over $500 worth of books from me and offered me $24 and $40 trade credit. I went in a day later and they were selling every book $2 cheaper than the cover price. Greed gets you nowhere! I ended up getting. A couple of things with my trade credit that i didn’t really want cause i didn’t want to step foot in that place again. Also when i was offered the trade credit i was told it was good for anything in the store than when i asked to get a sandwich i was told the credit didnt work on food. Further more they ask you ahead of time if there are books they can’t accept that you would like to donate -_- I think you can understand where this is going. Turns out book they couldn’t accept was a $80 graphic novel that’s not easy to find. I wanted to like this place cause it looks quaint. But there greed and dishonesty has lost my buisness not to mention the staffs fake friendliness.
I haven’t had their beverages but I tried to sell them books. I accepted a consignment deal for some textbooks that were current and valuable. They entered my name and the titles into some notepad document. I was told when they are sold they will contact me. I never heard back from them so I figured they weren’t sold and I might as well sell them myself so I contacted them for their return and they had no record of them. I hassled them and eventually spoke to the owner who said he had no record of them and would be replacing them or reimbursing their value to me. Never went anywhere and contact became increasingly difficult. I have since moved to Winnipeg and have no expectation of being paid.
I felt like I had stepped back in time. A time when life was slower, more savoured. I felt like I was sipping tea and reading a good book in someone’s living room, or in a library where a person was allowed to talk :). It was so relaxing. The London fog latte was wonderful, the Pecan bar was sweet, gooey and delicious. The classical music put everything right over the top!
