Pinball, perogies and live entertainment. If this is what you are looking for then this is the place for you. I’m old and prefer cleanliness to the dive bar feel.
Arcade games, pinball machines, booze, perogies with bacon and fried onions, apple pie perogies and music. Do I really need to say more?!Only downfall is most games are 1$. Some are $0.25 and some are $0.50 but most are 1$. The bill adds up fast if you suck at arcades and pinball like me lol. Best to go on free play nights. Pay a flat fee and play all you want!Kid friendly before 9pm. I give it a 3.5 stars but not 4 or more because the food menu is limited to perogies. Yeah, they’re really darn good perogies especially the apple pies ones, but the kitchen is big enough to offer more variety so why not offer it, even if just burgers and the likes. A basket of fries maybe??Orginal spot.
Probably the best way to spend a Sunday night; After 9pm there is a $5 cover fee but all the games are set to unlimited free play which is an amazing deal considering that pinball regularly costs $1/game. The perogies were amazing, and I don’t normally like perogies. They have some local craft beers on tap which is nice. The atmosphere is amazing, but it can get very loud and quite warm, just a head’s up! Overall a super fun time with delicious food. I think I’m going to become a Sunday night regular.
Went here on Saturday for first time visit, arrived at around 3:30-4pm. I walk down the stairs, no one greeted us, we sit down not knowing what to do. I approach the bar and find out thats how you order…ok fine. As im waiting for my food there is a table beside me with three babies and the kids keep coming and coming (ages 6 mos – 123456). Turns out the parents are having a baby’s birthday party!!!! In a dark BAR/MUSIC VENUE! I finished my drink and left, was a total buzz kill, food was good
Blast From Videogame Past. This place is totally awesome. I’m a huge video game fan and going there was a true delight ! All the old games I used to play as a kid we’re all there ! Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, Pac Man, Space Invader, Tetris and even more ! They also have a HUGE selection of pinball machines. There is never a dull moment in this place ! On Sundays, you pay 5$ at the door and you get free play on all the games and machines. INCREDIBLE ! The venue itself is a bit sketchy. It’s in a basement and it’s dark and humid. But it isn’t that bad, it’s still clean and liveable. They also have AMAZING homemade perogies. They have the traditional style ones and some reinvented ones which all pretty good. I have to admit, some of the staff is condescending, but the Wizard was awesome. I had a great time at this place and if you like videogames, you should definitely check it out.
Good Place, May Not Go Back. As others have stated I was pumped to try this place and after having been there I have mixed feelings and I’m not sure if I’ll go back. The games are awesome, the food is good and the beer selection is great. The problem is the volume. I’ve worked at a live music venue for over ten years and I had to leave when the band started because it was literally to painful to stay. If there’s a market for a music venue where without ear plugs customers simply can’t stay, that’s news to me. All that being said I may try it again when there’s no live music. If I don’t return I wish them the best of luck!
Tarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggg. Head here from 5-9pm for more relaxed dining and gaming.Head here from 9pm to close for an intense evening of great music and pinball! The perogies I’ve had were all delicious (Traditional, Kale Them All, scumptious apple + caramel dessert ones,) and the beer selection is commendable, appealing to those that want it cheap and mass produced, or local and fancy.I don’t know much about the bands coming through here, but I’ve been introduced to so many amazing bands by just paying cover to go play pinball, and then enjoying the bands. Whomever books their shows does a great job, provided you like rock and roll of all stripes. You don’t get much mellow music down there, but it probably wouldn’t work as well due to the machines being on at the same time. The music is indeed loud for the shows, but they sell ear plugs for $1 at the front. Genius.I used to find it hot over the summer, but they installed a brand new HVAC system so it is a much more cozy atmosphere.Games are really well maintained, and any time there was any malfunction they immediately refunded my money and/or got the game working perfectly right away. And they seem to be changing parts of the lineup each month!Super friendly staff, extremely reasonable prices, delicious food and drink, great shows, and the single greatest lineup of games in all of Canada (I think).
