Disappointed in Life of Pie. Just had a terrible cappuccino and bland piece of strawberry rhubarb pie. The pie crust lacked on flavour and the strawberries used in the pie didn’t seem fresh. Service was ok.

The desserts a absolutely delicious and I’ve never been disappointed by any of them, their prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is really pleasant. They also have board games so you can come in with friends and hangout. They also do full meals and non dessert food items of which I’ve only tried one. It was decent but nothing special, would try more before coming to a conclusion on the quality of them. Only complaint is that their cutlery had a gross metallic taste that took away from the food.

I went here about 5 years ago, extremely excited, ordered a strawberry rhubarb pie and was disappointed, it seemed like it wasn’t even cooked all the way through and quickly forgot about it, shrugged it off. Ever since then I avoided my favourite type dessert place. Last night, I was to bring dessert to a dinner and thought, I’ll try this pie place one more time since it was in the area. The only pie (unsure if they only do one type of pie/day) that they had was Apple Vanilla Brown Sugar Pie – sounds marvellous doesn’t it? – well it was … Typical – nothing special. I found have been just as happy with a pie from Farm Boy. What is the most frustrating part was the price – UBSURD!!! $17 for this pie, yes, $17!!! It DEFINITELY was not worth $17. I doubt I’ll be purchasing an entire pie there again. The actual shop itself was sweet, they offered slices of pie among many other treats. They had plenty of quiche as well. Don’t get your hopes up here!

Horrible Management. I had an unfortunate first hand experience of witnessing how the owners treat there staff. The one man was sexist and inappropriate to one of his workers. I really do not understand how they can keep their wonderful staff. I refuse to ever step foot into this establishment again.

Turkey Dinner Pie. The most amazing thing in a pastry we’ve ever eaten! An (almost) entire turkey dinner in a pie crust. Just add cranberry sauce, Brussels sprouts and a glass of wine. And follow up with a slice of Life of Pie’s scrumptious pumpkin pie. Pure bliss!

Sad quiche.. I was very disappointed by the jalapeno and cheddar quiche I purchased at Life of Pie. Awful texture, bland flavour, and watery consistency; the only minor saving grace was the appropriately flaky crust. Some of the other offerings certainly looked and/or sounded tasty, but I was so saddened by the $14 quiche I purchased, I doubt I will be returning.

Tourtiere. I was able to purchase two tourtiere pies on the Friday before Christmas…I was very disappointed in the quality.. the meat was crumbly with barely any flavour. I read that the recipe used is actually one from Alex Trebek (!) Perhaps a new recipe next year??
