Do not order take out, it is a ripe off. For CAD $14.99 of the Butter Chicken you get 12 pieces of 1 inch cube of chicken. It is much better to pay $1…

Dinner review. The restaurant needs a cleanup and needs some good staff. There spider webs on some light fixtures and some bulbs need replacementsThere was just one lady to serve and take orders. Seemed to us that she probably was the chef as well as the food came out very slowly. During our wait for food a pert of three just left as they were not attended after they were served water and complimentary papads After taking the order it took a good 25-30 minutes for the food to arrive. The food is not mainstream Indian (North Indian) it is rather Bangladesh style. Had Paneer Makhani – was fairly good. Not the usual red/pink in colour it was rather whitish. The Chickpea/Chole was too plain after eating the North Indian style which we were used too. The Mixed Vegetables was forgettable. The naan was delicious – soft, fluffy and warm. Even though we did not order rice she bought us a plate of rice and left. We did not touch it, but took it back after a few minutes. In the rare occasion an error was made, I have never experienced that they took away food after it was on the table for a few minutes. They give a complimentary tiny bowl of fruit at the end which was a nice touch. When we ordered the food we were expecting a half star for the restaurant, but the naan and the paneer dish saved the day. I had to ask for something spicy – they did not green chillies (!!) so they provided hot sauce, which was homemade I guess, and was HOT. Very limited parking nearby.
Amazing food, value, and staff. While this restaurant seems to have been around for a while, it is our go-to Indian restaurant. The food is amazing, prices excellent, and the staff are consistently wonderful. Their take-out orders are quick, well-packed, and make my mouth water in the car. Highly recommended!
This is has to be my favourite Indian restaurant in Ottawa! Or at least the one with the creamiest butter chicken. I’ve been here several times with friends and family’ and every time is as good as the last. The service is excellent and I love that they bring a warming tray to keep your food warm as you eat. Only downside is that they do not accept debit (cash or credit only!). Overall an excellent dining experience.
We went to Namaste India last night with a party of 6. The service was slow and the older waitress was a little old fashion. She was really strick on the way to eat the food, naan on one plate, eat on one plate, you can imagine. We all got our own dish. Our main course could have been warmer and their mild dishes are really mild. In all the food was good but pricey since the naan and rice are extras. We also got complimentary chips and fruit cup. The service could have been better. We waited a long time for the bill. One other negative thing is that they only take credit or cash, but only credit for orders over 15$.
Best Indian food in Ottawa!. Small location that gets packed often which tells you how good the food is! They are often short staffed and cannot keep up with the rush, so I recommend doing takeout if you don’t want to wait long. For appetizers, I recommend the onion bhaji and the prawn puri. I wouldn’t recommend the shammi kabab. For entrees, I recommend the chicken tikka, shrimp methi gosht, and chicken biriyani.
Meagre buffet. Got there around 12:30 which is half way through their 11:00 – 2:00 lunch buffet. Most of the dishes were half finished and cold and never replenished. The quality of meals was below average. Our request to fill in the salad pot fell on deaf ears. The hostess was bold enough to openly request for tip when we were paying the bill.
I love this place! Best prawn puri ever and the garlic naan is phenomenal. I’ve tried a lot of their curries. My favourite is the vindaloo, but the madras is great too. Highly recommend!
