I spent most of my life in Toronto and have dined at some of the best sushi restaurants this country has to offer. I agree with a lot of the complaint…

My boyfriend and I stopped for lunch here a few days ago. As this is the only sushi place in Orangeville, we decided to give it a try. The service wasn’t great, the waiters seemed bored and uninterested. The food was okay, nothing to get excited about. I am a huge sushi fan, and have definitely eaten better elsewhere. The menu is quite small for lunch, but we ate our food and left. I started to feel horribly nauseous at around 3pm, mind you, sushi was the only thing I had eaten all day.. I ended up throwing up from 4pm on, which lasted all night. I couldn’t eat another thing until after lunch the next day. My boyfriend didn’t eat any of the raw fish, and he was fine, so we knew it was this restaurant that caused me to be sick. We called the restaurant and put it a complaint with the manager and he completely dismissed the issue, trying to request a doctor’s note and said we were lying. He argued with us for 10 minutes and nothing was done to solve the issue. I have never been so appalled at the lack of customer service. Needless to say, I will never return to that location. COMPLETE disappointment.
Not exactly reasonably priced for what is essentially grocery store-grade sushi. Nothing special… in fact, barely adequate.A common shortcoming at lower end sushi places is an overabundance of rice and a relative dearth of other ingredients and that is exactly the case here.Staff were competent but not overly engaged… they seemed bored, unconcerned and basically content to milk the herd of white people who trundle through their doors without knowing any better. If you rate this place highly, chances are good that you’re country folk of narrow experience who just don’t know any better yet.
So good!. Amazing food! Sometimes there are small issues with stuff but for the most part it is a great Japanese resteraunt that is affordable and close to my home. I couldn’t ask for more!!! (:05 May, 201511-K Sashimi, Sushi, and Make Set (13pcs). 2 pcs each of salmon and tuna Sashimi. Salmon, tuna, and tai sushi rolls. With California Maki rolls. Just $14.99, and so so delicious! I get it everytime, sometimes I eat there more than once a week even. There goes my budget, oops haha!
Dissapointing. Sushi Kaika is the only sushi place in Orangville so I thought i’d give it a try. I tried, obe word, attrocious. The staff seemed bored and it seemed as though I was a nuisance and was not welcome. Food wise it is not fresh and very hastily thrown together for a innapropriately high price. Would not reccomend
Not the best. Unlike my previous review the servers have become very rude almost as if there tired of me eating so much. The quality has done down, dishes served cold and over cooked. My recommendation is to go to nearby Inaka sushi- much better quality there19 Apr, 2015Love the food. I eat here at least once a week, the food is amazing for a reasonable price. Smoked salmon and crab cheese wontons are both amazing.

Not worth it. My husband and I have been here several times over the years and the quality and portion size of the buffet food has gone down and the price up (you’re also lucky if you get what you ask for on the order sheet). We decided to come back with our 3 year old daughter as the restaurant next door had a wait list. With no kids menu, we ordered off the buffet for her ($3 all you can eat) and got her rice and two chicken dishes. My husband also did the all you can eat ($23) and I ordered a $16 bento. We only submitted one order ticket so not a ton of food off the buffet. My daughter was only eating the rice mixed with some of my chicken and sweet potato from my tempura so i nibbled some of the chicken dishes she wasn’t eating. The manager (owner?) came over to ask how many buffets were ordered and said that I wasn’t allowed to be eating her food.I couldn’t believe that he came over to our table to say that … We didn’t order a crazy amount of food and we weren’t taking advantage (which I’m sure some do). I ordered a full meal and was just eating what she didn’t. I understand they might get groups of people ordering a couple buffets and trying to scam but we were a family of 3 this was not the case. It’s over priced with small portions and bad service (not much personality).Wouldn’t recommend. Drive to inaka sushi in caledon instead.
