I’ve usually had a good experience at Mariposa Market…though any time I’ve had an item from the lunch selection, it has always been dried out and not warm enough. Any baked goods or sweets are always perfect. I also noticed, as well, that staff seem to think that everyone who comes in is a regular/local and knows where to mix their coffee, where to pay, etc…my parents and I came in for the first time when I first moved here for school and no one really helped us find our way around when we asked. Its a brilliant cultural spot and landmark of the city, but a bit more attention to customer service and savory food quality might be in the cards to improve the experience. 😉

Ok so the baked goods are to die for. However the warmed up lukewarm lunch we had was a bit disappointing. The strawberry salad was an excellent choice, the quiche and pizza were average and the place was so busy they barely warmed anything up. I recommend stopping in to pick up a baked treat you won’t be disappointed there! dreamtravelmagazine.com

We saw Mariposa Market Cafe the other day when we were in town for dinner, and we thought it would be nice to try for lunch. So today there were four of us in Orillia for lunch, and in we went. What a busy place! Lots and lots of delicious-looking baked goods! At the back they have a cafeteria-style counter offering many pre-made sandwiches, salads and some hot items, such as lasagna and chicken pot pie. SWMBO had the Lasagna, and I had the Pulled Pork Melt, and we split a small Chelsea Bun. The food was tasty, but I did find that the roll for my sandwich and the Chelsea bun were a little bit dry.

Best bakery ever!!!! Everything is good. My personal favourite is the cherry chocolate cheesecake tarts. If I am near Orillia, or passing by I go to this bakery. I want to buy and try every single item. I’m from the Toronto area. I have driven to Orillia just for this bakery before. It’s just that good.

Great ambience and food. It’s a landmark joint for obvious reasons. The lineups says it all.

Delicious Lunch Spot. We stopped in at the Mariposa Market Cafe for a light lunch. The place was busy which is always a good sign. The lineup at the counter was long but it moved quickly. There’s a variety of sandwiches and some hot entrees available. We opted for a chicken pot pie, meat pie, and some pasta fagioli soup. The soup was excellent. The pies were tasty.
