Fantastic eggs Benedict. The best I have had in a long time. The service was fast and friendly. Will definitely have to return to try out lunch menu.
Loved this place!! All the food and smoothies tasted fresh and authentic. They make all their bread in house and you can tell! Fresh ingredients and wonderful appearance. Wish they had all day breakfast though, the menu looks good but I’m never in before 11:30 due to work.
This place is fantastic, best breakfast ive possibly ever had, its small inside but for summers they have a back patio, its only breakfast for the most part and they have a selection of desserts at the counter, staff was very nice and accomodating! The smoked salmon benny and the beef tenderloin benny are pictured here
This is, hands down, the best breakfast place in Durham. We just discovered it yesterday and will no longer be frequenting any of the other typical breakfast joints. We ordered three meals between the two of us because everything looked so good. We had the beef tenderloin benedict, salmon benedict, and banana French toast. Can’t emphasize enough how amazing everything was. Even the coffee and cappuccino. We will definitely be regulars.
Tucked away between shops and restaurants in the heart of downtown Oshawa is Berry Hill Food Company. Its apparent from first glance the immense pride that owners Sarah and Jorge take in providing exemplary customer service and imaginative dishes to their patrons. This quaint space boasts a gorgeous butcher board bar and open concept kitchen where diners can watch as the dynamic duo cook up a multitude of flavours inspired by their travels in Bermuda the place where the idea of Berry Hill first originated many years ago.Upon arrival, we were greeted with a cup of their triple filter cold brew coffee, a light coffee with tender fruity notes that dont overwhelm, and the Matcha Garden, a house made juiced concoction of spinach, cucumbers, lime and green apple blended to create the perfect refreshing mix, both sweet and tart.As we sipped our drinks we were able to peruse their diverse menu and settle on the perfect dish to split: The PBLT, a decadent sandwich made with fresh tomato chutney, a runny egg fried to perfection, locally sourced peameal bacon, and served on a vegan ciabatta bun. The peppered edges of the peameal add the perfect bite to this sandwich cutting through the richness of the egg and complimenting the fresh, light flavour of the chutney. Served with a side of crisp, spiced potatoes and a fresh fruit salad, this dish is great to share or eat alone. While the sandwich is a meat lovers dream, smoked tofu is also offered as a vegetarian alternative in place of peameal. An array of desserts sit behind glass at the front of the cafe tempting patrons to delve into the delicious world of Berry Hills dessert menu. And since no meal is complete without dessert, we treated ourselves to a sinfully sweet mini apple pie, complete with Kawartha vanilla ice cream and dulce de leche. Of course, we couldnt resist a second cup of coffee this time their Japanese process cold brew. For those of you who have never experienced a cold brew, this one is perfect for coffee lovers and tastes just like a freshly brewed pot, despite being chilled. In addition to lunch, Berry Hill boasts a unique menu of delicious custom cakes and the best brunch in town and Sarah has the credentials to prove it; having been flown halfway across the world for her legendary eggs benedict. But if youre planning your next Sunday brunch at Berry Hill be sure to make a reservation or you may find yourself waiting in a line out the door.Berry Hill has big plans for this summer, including a revamp of their patio (already voted one of Durhams best in 2014), a selection of gourmet devilled eggs and introducing a variety of local craft beers to their drink menu. If youre hankering for some delicious Berry Hill-style food to make at home, theres no easier way than to check out Sarahs website, featuring tons of culinary tips, recipes and information. thebigeatontario.com
Chicken Pesto Panini. Chicken, pesto mayo, mozzarella and goats cheese, roasted red peppers, on a ciabatta bun.
