You will not find better middle eastern cuisine in Oshawa. There might not be other authentic middle eastern cuisine in Oshawa. Either way this place is delicious and filling. This place is a must eat for sure.
Hands down, best middle eastern food in Durham. And it’s not even close. And to top it off, the owner is extremely nice and cares about his food and customers. Always takes to talk to people and remembers repeat customers. He even stayed open after hours so I could pick up a take out order and he didn’t even make a peep about it. I only realized they were closed when I saw the sign on the door as I was walking in. Needless to say, he has a lot of repeat customers for a reason.
Food you will love!. When I lived in Europe, I was lucky enough to have several Persian and Eastern Mediterranean restaurants near my home, and it didn’t take long to develop a love of this delicious cuisine. When I moved back to Oshawa, I thought I would never be able to experience those great taste again. However, when I first heard of a new Persian place setting up shop fairly close to my new home, I jumped at the opportunity to try it out. I took one bite into a chicken shawarma – fully loaded and topped with a spicy dressing, and literally cried. It was so good! The flavour just really reminded me of the old shawarma joints I used to frequent overseas. Today, whenever I’m craving something spicy and filling, Cyrus is my default restaurant of choice. My personal favourite is the Chicken Shawarma Plate, and in a group we’ll often order an appetizer plate loaded up with Falafel, Tomato and Eggplant Dip, Cucumber Dip, and Stuffed Grape Leaves.Cyrus is the man.
Best shwarma around!. Cyrus is a very friendly person, always makes me leave happy, makes great food, and will cater to your pickiness haha. Favourite place for sure!
Sorry cyrus. I gotta say I thought Cyrus was the best in Durham until I checked out Pita Delight on harwood ave in Ajax , OMG its amazing , so many more choices for your pita as well a better variety in dinners or combo and the lental rice was amazing and the desert are truly homemade so fresh ,,, it’s soo yummy! I highly recommend it!! You sure get a lot more for your money, and easy access..sorry Cyrus but its the best!!
My husband and I have wanted to try Cyrus due to its great reviews for a long time and finally got an opportunity last night. The place smelled so good I could hardly wait to eat!! Due to my celiac disease I usually have a hard time dining out but I was pleasently surprised that I could have 98% of the items on the menu. The food was amazing and plentiful!! When we went to pay the owner even took the time to introduce himself and ask how we enjoyed our meal. That person touch was just the icing on the cake. We don’t live near by but would go out of our way to return to this little gem as soon as possible!!! You must try it 🙂
Amazing food, bad parking lot. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Oshawa. The food is amazing, the service is great. Cyrus is very friendly and cares about the quality of his food.The parking lot is, unfortunately, very small and can cause issues if you have to reverse out of it. Park somewhere else and walk over. It’ll be worth it.
