Many locals rave about this place, and I honestly dont get it. Food is bland and pretty unoriginal, decor is old, and wait staff isnt all that friendly. On the up-side, portions are huge, service is usually quick, and prices are reasonable. The place is busy, so I guess they have little motivation to improve?
Prompt and friendly service, quality food (massive portions) and a comfortable atmosphere. The menu is large but not confusing, and the selections are comfort food through and through. I’d recommend this Oshawa staple to anyone in the Durham region.
It’s a deli, not fine dining… but it is a fine deli. It’s all clearly home-made/prepared and is delicious… if you want deli food! We had the soup (cream of broccoli) – amazing! then corned beef on cabbage – amazing! And the turkey clubhouse, and the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti- all two thumbs up yet again. The homemade strawberry pie was fresh and local and again, amazing.I’ve seen some comments below about the service not being friendly. Nonsense, they are just super busy and super efficient and are not one of those spuriously friendly places where the waitress flirts and pretends to be your bff. Get over it and enjoy the fast, hot, tasty deli food! Highly recommended!
