Surprisingly great! After reading bad reviews we decided to try anyways. Service was amazing and quick even if the place was packed. They make good beer too, the black IPA was delicious and paired very well with the pizza and sweet potato fries we had. Pizza was amazing! And fries were perfectly crispy. They offer such a wide choice of sauces for pizza & fries : we got to try chipotle, garlic and bacon mayo. All were really good. Prices were reasonnable for pizza but some items on the menu seemed a little overpriced. However, portions are BIG so most likely worth the little extra if you want a bigger plate.Nice pub for a night out, family friendly and not too loud either!
Typical brewery vibe, plenty of beer selections! Service was a little slow but the food made up for it, the pulled chicken nachos were delicious.
There’s no doubt about it; this is a very slick operation. Featuring an in-house brewery that turns out seasonal beers as well as a well-rounded menu with expected bar and grill items, I can say that I like going here but the price doesn’t always reflect the meal itself. The service has always been very friendly and accommodating. Honestly, I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant, but the price of the food makes me consider other options sometimes.
By far the best service, food, beer and drinks in restaurant in ottawa, medium price but delicious enough to make the price worth it and portion sizes mean we always have leftovers ( just as great the next day when heated in the oven btw). I’ve never been let down by big rigs. I love going and I love having family events here!
Went to breakfast with friends – we all got the Ottawa favorites. It seems that breakfast is not their specialty cause it wasn’t very good. The hash browns were soggy, the bacon was tasted microwaves and the eggs were, well they were eggs. We decide to have ceasers which we very spicy – albeit good for those that like it spicy but we were not given the option. One of my friends could not drink hers. Although they were kind enough to take it off her bill and/or make her another. Aside from that, the wait staff was friendly and the service was excellent. Maybe i’ll go for lunch next time.
The Vietnamese pork sandwich was completely disgusting. Huge chunks of fatty pork, I couldn’t even eat it. The fries were dry and flavourless and my friend’s sandwich had oil dripping off of it. Gross. Will not go back.
For the price you pay, you’d expect more out of this restaurant. Mediocre food, mediocre service, all at an inflated price. The only thing Big Rig’s has going for them is the atmosphere. After several mediocre experiences at this restaurant, I’ve decided not to come back again.
