Terrible food! Pad $40 for two dishes and a few spring rolls. Chicken guy ding was the worst I’ve ever tasted, chicken smelled funny and tasted horrendous. Two bites were eaten and the entire container thrown out. Beef and broccoli was whatever, not horrible but not good either. It’s a shame Since I had wars decent things about this place. I wouldn’t rend brother wu to anyone.
Worst Chinese Food EVER. We ordered delivery, which took over 75 mins to arrive. The Veggie Chow Main was nothing but cooked bean sprouts with onions… No noodles or veggies. The Won Ton Soup had the soggiest won tons ever, that basically tasted like unseasoned pork in soggy dough and had a distinctly soapy dishwater taste to the broth. The only park of the dinner that didn’t completely suck were the completely average egg roles. You couldn’t pay me to order from here again.
Brother shrimp is a must-have
I just ordered from this place online and the prices from the online turned out to be different from what s on my receipt. I also added the tip on the order and the delivery driver asked what I wanted back( meaning how much r u giving me)… I told him that I had already included the tip on the order i did online but hey funny thing it’s not written on the receipt… Will I be ordering from them again absolutely not!!!…hurry up with your renovations Lai Lai !!!!
Authentic Chinese food (and service). First, I’ll establish my bona fides: Chinese-Canadian whose father was a gourmet chef; originally from Toronto but now living in Ottawa. Past gastronomic tourist in China. I know my Chinese food. By Ottawa standards, this restaurant serves up authentic Chinese dishes at quite decent quality and prices. I won’t comment on North American Chinese food, but the real deal is on their menu (unfortunately, a lot us untranslated into English but demand to know what it is!). The bad news is, their service is authentically Chinese too. That bad. Slow, unfriendly, impersonal. For example, after many years, the female co-owner never once uttered a word to us to say hello, thank you, come again, except when there was a price dispute and she vigorously woke up in attack mode. So much for customer loyalty. If you’re Caucasian, you can expect quicker and friendlier service, and that woman and her husband will actually talk to you. If you have young children, expect to be segregated at a table in the back corner; kids just aren’t welcome here. Bottom line: come only if you’re desperate for real Chinese food in the east end otherwise stay away.
So so… 7/10…. After driving by this place a thousand times and liking the look of it… Old school… I finally talked my partner into trying it. Suffice to say, it was mediocre. I was thrilled at the thought of the crispy beef… but to my mind there’s crispy beef and then there’s crispy and inedible beef. This beef had seen better moments… like about 5 minutes earlier before it was cooked to texture of bark. We went – I admit – fully Can Chinese – so some of the other dishes might have rocked. That said – the chow mein – one of my favourites – was fresh and top notch and the general tao a solid 7/10.The owner is a tad crusty… but just ask him about all the pictures he has of Stephen Harper ordering take-out and he’ll brighten up.I would like to try lunch here one day … as it looks as if they have some interesting szechuan dishes…
Imperial Shrimp and Fried dumplings. This place is absolutely horrible! The customer service is terrible. The owners do not take the time to understand anything. Honestly, I’m going to tell everyone I know to never eat there!!!And by the way the food isn’t great at all, everything I ordered was cold and the person answering the phone couldn’t even take the proper order. This IS chinese food at its worst. If you can’t serve people the RIGHT go out of business.
