Not your average Mexican. This is the second time we are eating at Cantina Sur.The food again was exceptionally good, carefully prepared and arranged on our plates as if for a photo shoot.The Yucca had an ever so slight crispy crust without being greasy or heavy. The spicy mayo went very well with it.The plate of nachos we shared looked as if every single nacho was loaded with the best of everything before being stacked together – only to be loaded some more!Service was very attentive and naturally kind and caring.We will be back for sure.
The best Mexican food in Ottawa. Cantina Sur has provided the real and delicious Mexican food. We really enjoyed their tacos. Definitely we will come back again.
Great food and music. Great food. Live music. Decent prices. Chilled atmosphere. This bar/restaurant is perfect for a relaxed date. They also have one of the cheapest pitchers in town at $12. I came here with my boyfriend last night and ordered a bunch of pork tacos. Holy crap. I’m pretty sure they were the best we’ve ever had. Very juicy and flavorful. This joint is run by the owners themselves. Which means you get the friendliest service, although not the fastest. But who cares. We had a great time and recommend it.
Amazing Authentic Mexican Food. This is my go-to Mexican place, they serve REAL Mexican food and it’s not too pricey. The service is excellent, the staff always treats me like family, and they make sure to let me know they appreciate me as a customer. The Gorditas and Tres Amigos are to die for, as well as their yucas fritas which are just like my grandma used to make them, but the best for sure is the Cake de Tres Leches, a must-have for dessert.
I love this restaurant, finally some authentic Mexican food in this city. I have tried almost every thing on the menu, it is authentic not the typical food for tourists. If you are looking for real Mexican food you must try this restaurant, all my Mexican friend agree with this Authentic Mexican Food!!
Disappointing. The salsa and chips were a joke, the salsa was 90% onion chunks, and the cups were your typical Old Dutch commercial chip. The enchilada was disgusting, the rice was bland, and the beans looked like they were in a cup of liquid charcoal. I’m so, so sorry I ever cheated on Lone Star.
