Very small and dirty inside. No parking. The food is greasy and the servings are small. There are only 7 parking spots behind the building. Tried going with a large group and we couldn’t be seated at one table.
I went here for Mother’s Day with my family ( mom and brother) and it was incredible!! I had the beer battered fish and it was delicious though ( be warned) it crumbled into crumbs very easily. I also had the lemonade to drink which is swoon worthy, it’s so sweet. We ate outside on the patio and I believe I will treasure the memory always because the atmosphere and the people made everything right. (Also, the decorations of the place are fantastic, from the boat steering wheel to the mermaid painted on the bathroom door to the newspaper under my fish).
What a GREAT place!. We decided to take my mom to Cat’s for Mother’s day, and I’m so glad we did. The food is beyond amazing (beer battered haddock absolutely superb!) I will be recommending it to all my friends. Would I go back? You bet I would, it really was a wonderful experience!
Good fish and chips, fast service and decent price
Stay away ;-Too Much Salt and Crapy, crappy food March 11, 2015. We had a very disappointing serving of mussels which were supposed to be made in rum. Perhaps, it is salt that was mistaken for the rum. 4 mussels were unopened, 2 were empty and two the shell was broken. I salt shaker fell in. This was served with a stale bun at extra charge. When I mentioned this to the server a woman came over and insisted they didn’t use salt. Unbelievable!!!!No apologies or offer of another dish.Same thing goes for the Newfie Fries. SALTY !!!!My companion had battered HADDOCK it was palatable but the Coleslaw was terrible and old.Honestly, the worst restaurant I have ever gone to in my life!!!kts
Yuk. I went there and it was horrible and far too expensive. Overcooked slop.
Great gluten free fish, friendly service. I’ve been meaning to try Cat’s Fish and Chips for a while now, and finally made my way there. I’m so happy I did. The service was friendly and great. The waiter, Tim, introduced himself to me immediately and made me feel like I was in a small town restaurant where everyone knows each other. With the regular menu I was handed a gluten free one without needing to ask, which is always a plus. The gluten free fish and chips were fantastic. They were crisp and not overly greasy, and the batter had good flavour. My friend had the crab cakes and said they were really good. I’d definitely recommend this place, especially if you have a gluten allergy.
