I have been to this restaurant twice, once with some co-workers and a second time with family. As someone who is GF, it is nice to find a nice, intimate restaurant that serves good GF food. I will happily return again for some good GF Italian food. 🙂
Went there with friends last night and the meal I ordered had plastic inside. I put it aside thinking it might be just one occasion and took a second and a third bite, it had the same issue. When I brought it to their attention, instead of apologizing, the owner was explaining why the plastic was inside. Apparently, it was in the freezer so they wrap the food and the new cook forgot to remove the plastic wrap before cooking. They actually asked me if I want another one instead of saying we will make you a fresh one. So of course, I returned and requested that I want a fresh piece. So while my friends are eating their meal, I am waiting for mine. When the bill came, any other fine restaurant would have most likely would have given the meal at no charge or give a discount for what happened. They billed me for the entire amount and when I brought this to their attention, the waiter (the owner’s son) was really argumentative and rude and asked if I have ever worked in the restaurant as he has never seen this where the meal is free. He said it was a new cook so how is that my problem? So if it’s a new cook, then all the meals should be given at a discount price to everyone since the quality is not the same. I think it was just an excuse as I only saw the owner cooking in the kitchen as it was right in front of our table. The argument with the owner and waiter went on for about 10 mins as this restaurant didn’t care about customer service. They said I still got a fresh piece and ate my food. Wow with this kind of customer service, they must do really well. So I paid my bill with no tip and will never again eat there as they serve frozen food. Looked like it was bought at costco and reheated and charge their customer extensively high. The worst restaurant I have been in my life.Also, while we were eating our food, as the kitchen was right in front of our table, noticed the owner (also the cook), while preparing the food also was tasting it as well. I had mentioned that to my friends while eating and not realizing how the end would have resulted. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Hated it!
The staff was friendly and was able to seat us immediately without a reservation (even though it was busy Saturday evening. We were offered indoor and outdoor seating. They provide a gluten-free menu to accommodate those who are ciliac. We got the gluten-free calamari (perfectly cooked and couldn’t tell it was gluten-free). Our mains came out steaming and tasted like your Nonna use to make it. Waitstaff was amazing and were able to answer any questions and address any concerns in a patient and professional manner. We will be returning.
Great place to eat in or get delivered!. I’ve been to this place once to eat in for a date and have had it delivered to my house. Some say the decor is outdated but it’s really just quaint and old-fashioned, I think it gives it character! The ambiance is great for dates. As for the delivery service, it’s surprisingly quick for an Italian restaurant and the food arrived piping hot at my door within 20 minutes of ordering. Both times I’ve had their food its been great, the rigatoni is my favourite and the homemade tiramisu is amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone.
They decided to stop delivering to my area even though I’m a regular. Brutal service… Too bad. Manager said they are too busy to deliver to me… Not cool
Disappointment for Preston St. Had lunch for the first time and was disappointed. There were paper napkins on the table, and for authentic Italian restaurant on Preston St charging those prices, cloth napkins would be appropriate. We also had to ask to have bread for the table, as there was no offer from the servers, to have with the oil and it was sliced thin and too crusty. The salad was served on a side saucer which was messy, using a fork parts of it were on the table. I would not return or recommend this restaurant.
Gluten free pizza is no good. I ordered the gluten -free crust. A simple pizza. Cheese and mushrooms. Hard to mess up. But the pizza I got was not good. The crust was mushy and tasteless. I would not recommend it.
