Fantastic Food. A cozy little place ran by warm people who make great food. I watched the lady at the front hug a customer goodbye (a complete stranger to her), in the same week she gave me an empanada for free after ordering some tacos. Don’t go to the bistro expecting a fast food joint though. While the service is good when they’re not busy, if the place is packed you can expect quite a delay, the wait is worth it though. Overall a must-visit for anyone in the area interested in high quality, authentic food.
Chilean lady extremely RUDE!. I just spoken with a lady (Chilean, the owner) at this restaurant, and she was so rude! the food here is not consistent in quality and in authenticity, some days is good, others days is terrible, raw and old. And you are lucky if the owner in in good mood, otherwise, you are in for a terrible, rude service. I was honest when she asked how the food was, and I said: it is not good – sorry! – I have called to ask what she has in the Peruvian menu ( and keeping fingers crossed that the Peruvian chef was there), and she said, we cannot serve to you! because you are very picky! What? How rude! I just also have realized, that I am not the first one to have such a bad experience. oh well, too bad for this little bistro.
Personnel is very rude. I personally hasn’t been at the Latin Bistro but I will never go. I’ve made a phone call and the person who I spoke with was very rude and not willing to help or answer my questions politely. They should definitely improve their customer service because I am very disappointed. I am not a person who uses to write reviews but this deserves one so people know what to expect from the Latin Bistro.
The Latin Bustro is a delicious and uniquely authentic Latin restaurant in Ottawa. Nestled into a tiny and unassuming strip mall on the corner of Meadowlands and Fisher in Nepean (in the old DiRienzos location), this little casual cafe style bistro is introducing foods and flavours to Ottawa that have previously been missing in our local diet. I have travelled through much of Latin America and I was fortunate enough to live in Colombia for years. The food here is real and soooo good! La gente tambien son must amables! Gracias Heidi! The owners and the chefs are so welcoming and kind. They teach you about the food if you ask. You can eat inside – several tables available – or take it to go. Rotating chefs cook regional specialties each day. I can’t wait to return and try something new. Go! Bring your familia and amigos!
Check it Out. Good homemade food served by people who take great pride in what they offer. I will definitely be back to this cozy addition to Old Nepean.
My fianc brought me home ceviche foe this place today. It was really good. Waaaay better than the ceviche they serve at la discotecka in the market. So far the best I’ve tried in ottawa that wasn’t made at home. Definitely going to go in myself this week to check out what else they have.
