Just ordered Musaka to go. What a rip. If I wanted boring salad I would have ordered it. If I wanted stale bread I would have ordered it. If I wanted old rice and potatoes I would have ordered it. I wanted Musaka and what I got was crap. The piece was not much bigger than my big toe and tasted like it had been made yesteryear. This lovely dish only set me back 20 dollars, which at first I thought was insane but then I saw the to go bag which was huge so I thought okay, Lots of Musaka. NOPE just lots of lame filler. Save yourself some money and just go to Greece.
The past two experiences I’ve had at Pilos has left a bad taste in my mouth, and it’s not because of the food. On both occasions when we were waiting for our take out order, one of the male staff touched me inappropriately. The first time I was unsure if it had actually happened, but this time I had no doubt. I was more wary. I’m not even sure if it was the same guy, but it doesn’t matter. I will not be going back to that place. I just want to warn women so that this situation doesn’t happen to them.
Rude and the food was just adequate.. We went for an early dinner on a Friday night. There was 3 adults and 2 well behaved toddlers. We arrived at 5pm and there was only one other table being used. The staff treated us like we had Plague in the form of two little boys. I get it. I truly do. No one likes to be around screaming misbehaving kids but that wasn’t the case here. Anyway, the food was just average but the service was staggeringly poor. I/we will never inflict our presence on them again.
Should have been better for the money. I was hoping this might be our new neighbourhood restaurant since moving here earlier in the week. Don’t think it will be.I got the chicken souvlaki platter and a baklava to go. It came to over $22, which I found pretty steep. I was invited to sit while I waited by the very friendly woman at the cash. A male waiter, who was sitting rather comfortably at a nearby table, got up and removed the two steak knives at my table. Left the forks. Then he walked away without a word. Perhaps I appeared high-risk to steal the cutlery…?The platter came with two sticks of chicken, tzatziki sauce rice, potatoes, garlic bread and what I assume is the greek version of Turkish salad. The chicken, rice and potatoes were good. The sauce was meh, without alot of flavour; a bit more garlic is in order. The salad was tomatoes and raw chopped onions in oil and lemon juice. Not great. Not even good. Raw chopped onions? And garlic bread?? For a Greek resto, perhaps pita would be a bit more appropriate. So overall, rather overpriced for average to below-average food. You can do better elsewhere; give it a pass.
Food is good! Horrible service!! The waitress was angry for some reason or maybe tired, but she treated us like she really didn’t want to be there! Very unfortunate as we like the food but won’t be coming back!
Ordered sole for lunch the piece was very very small to much patatoes and rice the salad in the plate wasn’t fresh
Never had a bad meal here. I’m actually rather puzzled by some of the negative reviews here, because Pilos has always been very dependable in serving up top-quality dishes, my favourite being the souvlaki-and-calamari combo. My only complaint about the place is that it would be an even better establishment if they were set up in their very own free-standing restaurant rather than shoe-horned into a strip mall with limited parking.
