The way plating your plate is bad, I eat by my eyes first. Not going there again. Looks they don’t hire professional. I didn’t like the food quality neither the place.
Great beers and friendly service. I live in the neighbourhood and have been coming to Pubwells every now and then for a few pints and sometimes pizza, which is delicious, especially the canuck pizza. Since the renovations, you can really tell this bar has been taking steps in the right direction and they are updating the draft lists. The new look is cozy warm and welcoming, and they finally serve the drafts in the right pint glasses. The girls that work at this pub are insanely beautiful and cheerful, and their smiling faces always keep me coming back, in particular the tall blondish/brownish haired waitress I see working on the weekends. The staff always looks so happy to be there and kind, totally unlike the coke headed and rude staff hired by the Orange Monkey down the street. All in all, I reccomend Pubwells for great pizza and reasonably priced draft, and stay to watch the game and talk to the friendly girls. The only thing I could say bad about this place is that they don’t do any drinks specials. Im a guy who likes to save money and it would be nice to get a deal sometimes, and it seems like everywhere else you go there’s atleast some sort of drink of the day. All in all, a great pub.
My favorite neighbourhood pub. Pubwells is a great local pub. I take my kids to brunch and dinner and always see my fellow neighbours. Good prices and awesome atmosphere makes it an easy place to hang out.Funny enough, I saw the comment left below. I was actually there that night with my kids and spoke with the waitress afterwards. The gentleman had apparently reserved for 10 people but showed up to watch the fight with 3 of his friends only. There were others watching the other game (including my husband) and since there were kids around it was in my opinion a good judgement call from the owner to not play the fight. I don’t see any wrong in that, especially when my kids were there. Also, they played the rest of the fight after we left.
Better than pub food. For a pub, the food is actually really good, and I would definitely suggest the wings, the daily specials and the weekend breakfasts (my husband and I love their brunch, and we try to go as often as possible). The atmosphere is warm and inviting, inside and out. Although it’s low key, it’s a great place to have a few drinks and a bite to eat.
Just go for a beer, skip the food. I honestly wished that I loved Pubwells, with its ever-so-inviting exterior facade and its convenient location. I wanted to like it, but the pub food was just so subpar I couldn’t bring myself to return after my second visit. I mean, I don’t visit pubs for gourmet delicacies, but they have to be able to pull off the staples (wings, etc.). Sadly Pubwells didn’t do it for me. That being said, if I only wanted a beer, and a nearby pub with a cozy atmosphere, I would probably give it another whirl. I also don’t recall the service being particularly warm or attentive, especially given that the place was 95% empty for both my visits.
The food here has always been great, Brunch is awsome.My g/f loves that you can get a one egg, eggs benedict. Nice cozy bar and love the look and plants on the inside.Great place to relax, and awesome service!
