This is somewhere I’d go for something cheap and quick! For the price, the portions they give out are enormous. I could not finish my part. The store itself is bland so I wouldn’t like to eat in. The rice I ordered was delicious! I liked that it was a little sticky and it was well seasoned. The banana patties are my favourite! So good and crunchy. The coleslaw was so unique! It’s very spicy and that’s not something I’ve encountered before. It was very much to my liking. The beef however, was very dry and difficult to swallow. That’s the part I left behind. The staff also did not seem too happy to serve us. They did not smile and quickly gave us our food so we could be on our way. I would go back if I had nothing else since this is a convenient place.
Tasty and inexpensive!. This is one of the best Haitian restaurants in Ottawa. Mostly take-out, but there are seating areas. It’s pretty popular around here generally, and the orders can take a little long, but trust me it’s worth the wait. I recommend the griot (fried pork), or the legumes if you don’t eat meat. They have good fried plantains and compliment the orders with sauce.Portions are plentiful and can easily be made into leftovers for the next day. A hidden gem in Vanier.
