Went to Gabby’s on Hunter last night (Wednesday) & enjoyed an open mic hosted by the Wolf’s Matt Diamond. Fantastic local talent. We all had a great time! Went in today to have lunch & had the M.I.L.F Burger! (Meat I Like to Fry) I will be back.
I would not recommend eating here at all. the food is really terrible, you can tell no one really has any pride in what they are serving. my steak was disgusting which is pretty unusual, it was thin and cooked way too much and dry (i ordered med rare). the ribs were also dry and disgusting and even my salad was sub par. the best part is while we were eating our dinner the place seemed to fill up with drunk college kids who were rowdy and looking for a place to get drunk. not something i enjoyed having my son around. apparently they would rather be a frat house then a restaurant because as soon as those boys came in our server was way more concerned with them and practically forgot about us. i was not happy and would never go back. its a shame because of the amazing location.

It used to be Better!!. We used to go to Gabby’s when we were in town, it was a pretty good place to eat, good value. We were there last week and noticed the turn-over of wait staff keeps changing and they are not as friendly….in fact, the whole mood of the place has changed. The guy that owns it used to walk around smiling at customers and his staff and is now barking at EVERYONE!!!! Not nice to see, a little uncomfortable. It is showing up in the quality of food too, sadly. We may try it again because we really liked it at one time but I have heard it has turned more into a bar than a restaurant. Too bad 🙁
Good basic food, a nice place to go with friends. They make awesome strawberry daiquiris and have good deals on wings certain times of the week
Inconsistancy in gluten free.. At my first visit of Gabby’s in Newmarket I went to watch my friend sing for their live entetainment. I enjoyed the Gluten free Quasadillas. I was excited that I had found a GF restaurant not too far from my home,On my birthday a month later my boyfriend took me to Gabby’s. I was a bit nervous as the server did not seem overall concerned about my allergy. While I was eating my GF chicken sandwich and appetizer..I started to feel sick…it was after I finished that the server said that she presented me with the wrong fries as they were not GF….literally minutes later I was not well….however their bathrooms are nice..I have never been back. And i will not trust a restauant that markets their GF menu but is inconsitant with its execution. 🙁
Family brunch. My family and i decided to try a new local restaurant last Sunday for a late lunch after church. I do a lot of business in Toronto and am familiar with the gabby’s chain there, so it was to my surprise they had opened one in Peterborough. I would have to say they had polite and fast service with hot meals. We didn’t expect to be able to get breakfast so late in the day but it was a nice surprise. My daughter especially enjoyed her French toast as she told me on our way home. All in all it was a great Sunday afternoon with my family and i would recommend taking yours there to.
