Hoshi is an ok place for sushi. I hadn’t been here is a very long time, until this week. I remember when it was the first sushi restaurant in Peterborough, and when I tried my first sushi ever there. It has gone down hill a little more each time I visit. This week it did rebound a bit but nothing that will have me going back there too soon. My companion and I started with miso soup and edamame which were both good, my companion got two veggie rolls for her entree, they looked great and she seemed very impressed. I had the green dragon roll, which was very large but very good. I also got the assorted sashimi appetizer which was ok but the cut of the fish seemed a little off in the butter fish and red tuna they both seemed rather grisly. The service again was ok, but could use improvement. My companion placed an order to go at the end of our meals, we ended up waiting quite a while (30 min estimate) until we realized it had been waiting at the sushi bar for her practically the entire time. No rush to go back but a convenient sushi place downtown if you are looking for something close by.

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend and we had a very good time. the food presentation was better than any other sushi restaurant we’ve seen in peterborough so far (including aji sai, mats sushi, hockey sushi, and sapporo). The fish was very nice as well as the maki rolls were quite large. The menu was a little on the pricier side though. For a cheaper eat with less presentation and smaller maki rolls, try one of the all you can eat sushi restaurants in peterborough instead.

Chap Chai. I’ve only ever had the Chapchai here (not sure on the spelling) because its all I could afford at the time, the menu items are on the priceier side. It was alright.
