Worth visiting. I have been to Olde Stone a number of times for drinks, and a couple of times for food. While it may not be my #1 all time favourite restaurant in Peterborough, I have always had a pleasant experience. I usually don’t like seafood of any kind, but I find their calamari (with delicious dipping sauce) quite good. I’ve had their burger and their reuben, and was satisfied with both. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point to try some other menu items (Cheddar Ale Soup sounds sooo good!).

Had jerk chicken. chicken was a really small portion, rice was solid and dry. salad was crisp and fresh, but didnt make up for everything else being dry.

Dull, tiny, and dry. Run – don’t walk – to St Veronus. My friends and I just had dinner there and it was very disappointing, The potions were small. The chicken was dry. The salad boring. And the service indifferent. All for the bargain of $15 per entree. Never again!

Not sure what all the bad reviews on here are about. I’ve been going here for 12 years and the only downside to this place occasionally is the service. And to be quite frank, after you get to know the place- it’s something you either let go and enjoy the great beer, tasty food and awesome atmosphere, or you just don’t come back. I don’t let it get to me because I love the place! The open air seating is tops in the summer and the old world pub vibe can’t be beat. Their cheddar ale soup is scrumptious; the bangers & mash are a delicious old word favourite, their mushroom pizza (can’t recall the proper name on the menu) is fantastic, their fish and chips are a huge portion and the best pub style ones in town, and finally: their frozen peanut butter pie is out of this world!!!I was just there for Robbie Burns night and they piped in a haggis, addressed it, and served up complimentary samples to all. Being of Scots descent I was already planning to have the haggis dinner, but I thought it was grand nonetheless! Anytime I’ve had an issue with my food (I think my soup was cold once or something like that, but it’s been a very rare occurrence in all the years I’ve been going here) it’s fixed promptly and there’s been an appropriate on discount on the bill. I’m a big fan of locally owned and operated restaurants, as opposed to big chain places and this is one of the gems in the gastronomic paradise that is Peterborough!

Got the burger. Stale bun. Gross old tomatoes razor thin pickles. 4/10

Food is pretty bad here. Had a so-called pizza… Came as 4 slices on a soft bread crust unlike any puzza i’d ever had. Didn’t finish it.

Didn’t even bother ordering.. We only went because the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. We sat down and ordered water (just normal water, mind you) and they gave us tonic water… The manager kept coming over every two minutes to ask us if we were ready and, after the third time, we decided to go because none of the food looked appetizing to us. When we left (after already leaving a $1 tip for their troubles) the manager tried get us to pay for water. We only wanted regular water, because we hadn’t committed to the menu yet, and he served us something we had to pay for. After seeing our frustration and listening to our explanation, he apologized and said we didn’t have to pay. Too bad too, we had high hopes for it and we thought it’s location was great. Goes to show, don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
