Delicious. My husband and I regularly eat at Sam’s Place. It is one of our favourites. I love that they try to use local ingredients as much as possible and that all of their meat is local and prepared by the staff. The atmosphere is great and the staff have always been welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. I don’t like stuffy and formal when I go into a restaurant. I want to feel like I am among friends…I always do at Sam’s place. The food is delicious and I always look forward to visiting. I have tried many of the specials and most of the menu items. I have never been disappointed. Keep up the great work!
The sandwiches there are great. But great sandwiches are not worth the unendurably rude service. The service is incredibly slow, as well. To their credit , Sam’s Place seems to be drastically under-staffed, which goes hand in hand with slow service. I am a fiend for supporting local business, and yet when I think of Sam’s Place, I think I’d sooner eat at McDonalds and risk my health, then go back to the Rude-Ass Deli on Hunter. Sam’s place is a no go.

The server was so incredibly rude and impatient and was essentially mocking me the entire time. My sister, mom and I were the only people in the restaurant so she had no reason to be so rude. I was pissed at myself for the rest of the day that I didn’t walk out. I would never ever go back to this dive.
Overrated. Took my parent’s in law there for lunch when they were visiting, was truly disappointed. Took forever to get four sandwiches, I ordered their special which was a smoked meat sandwich. There were two or three paper thin slices of more fat than meat, really stringy, the sauce was pretty bland too. My wife got the same thing. My father in law got a philly cheese steak sandwich (also a sandwich of the day I think) no meat again. My mother in law got an egg salad, can’t really screw that up.All the other reviews I’ve been reading keep talking about the heaped meat on the sandwiches, i didn’t see it. And did I mention SOOOOOOOO slow! We were waiting for 20 minutes and the place wasn’t even busy.
