The best butter chicken I have ever had! Not your average butter chicken be warned its sweeter and creamier but to die for. I come here at least once a year with my latest visit being last week. Shafiq’s is the best Indian food in Peterborough. I came with my mom who also loves Indian food. We had butter chicken (of course!), lamb biryani, shrimp saag, naan, and each had a lassi. Everything was excellent, food service and the price. We left with plenty of leftovers. Thanks Shafiq and family we will be back soon.
Went to shafiq’s yesterday and had an amazing dinner! We have driven by many times and it is always packed so we decided we would go in and try it! Very delicious especially the homemade sweet tea and garlic naan bread!! Everything else was good but would be better if it was a little more spicy but that may have been our fault for not ordering it hot enough! Beef korma was also delicious
A frequent dining destination. I have had Shafiq’s many times, both as dine-in and as take-out, and have extremely seldom, if ever, been disappointed. Service is welcoming, and the menu has lots of variety. Favourite menu items include vegetable vindaloo, tarka dall, baingan bartha, bombay aloo, vegetable samosas, and onion bhaji. It seems like a small thing to compliment, but it’s really nice that they provide their takeaway in nice reusable, resealable containers; portions are generous enough that I often end up having two meals instead of one when ordering for takeaway.
The worst Indian food I have had in many years, and horribly over-priced. Just tried Shafiq’s for the first time. As an Indian who has eaten Indian food around the world, I can tell you that there are many fine Indian restaurants in Canada and in Ontario. Shafiq’s is not one of them. Not one of the vegetable, chicken, fish or lamb dishes we ordered was palatable. There is nothing I hate more than wasting food but these dishes are destined for the garbage. And the prices are higher than good Indian restaurants in Toronto.I can’t believe that we spent $148 on this slop.
This is some kind of not Indian food. I have dined over a 100 Indian restaurants. This is rock bottom with Curry Village as well. As it has the same menu.
We love Shafiq’s. We get take out mostly. The samosas are amazing and the curries and butter chicken awesome! Have eaten at the restaurant with no complaints.
Loved it! Will be back.. My family ate here for the first time the other night. The service was very friendly and attentive. Our group consisted of my husband and I and our 5yr old picky eater. We had the butter chicken, dal soup, pappadums, palao rice, chicken curry and lamb korma. Everything was Amazing! The food was plentiful. We ate until quite full and had plenty to take home for lunch the next day. My fussy daughter has talked about nothing but her dinner there and we are having it again tonight!!!
