I found the staff to be somewhat confused about menu items and table locations. The view was lovely, but the tables are much too close together so that a private conversation is impossible. The food was competitive with other restaurants in town.
I love this place. It is a second home during the summer for me. Be sure to stop by for Americano Friday. The yogurt granola and fruit is excellent. Be careful coming between 10:30am and 1pm as the MNR employees come for breaks and lunch making it very busy.
Always a lovely spot especially on a hot evening. We went there for dessert (Ginger cookies still very yummy) after late dinner, only to be rushed because they were closing – next time we’ll go to Black Honey.
My New 2nd Home. I first heard of the Silver Bean Caf when I moved to nearby Lakefield over the winter months. Even with opening day months away I heard a lot of positive talk about the Silver Bean. As opening day grew closer the buzz about town grew louder. Upon visiting opening day and few more times since I can easily see why there was so much talk. The Silver Bean Caf not only lived up to it’s reputation, it surpassed it. The food, the service, the scenery and the community that the Silver Bean provides is second to none. Whether you live locally or are visiting from out of town, make sure the Silver Bean Caf is on your itinerary. You won’t be disappointed.

Service lousy. The coffee is good but be prepared to wait for an intolerable amount of time while the staff think about your order, decide how to make your coffee, wait for the coffee to look like it wants to be made, and then to talk to others waiting in line while the coffee decides to be made. Three tries and I’m out.
Great little place to have a light lunch or a afternoon snack. It’s right on the water with comfortable porch seating as well as indoor dining for the not so nice days. Really healthy and decently priced. Not huge portions however so if you want to not spend much don’t go starving.
