GreAt little breakfast place. If you’re in town needing breakfast then check it out. It’s usually busy on weekends, food is good fairly priced and staff are great!!
My wife and I elected to go here for breakfast due to the unlimited coffee and she loves the waffles. I ordered the Monte Cristo eggs benedict ($13.95) and my wife ordered the belgian waffle topped with whipped cream and berries. She also ordered the fruit bowl. The food was quite good but it’s the price that shocked us both. Over $40 for this with the coffee. That’s just rediculous! Due to not paying close attention, the fruit bowl and waffle topping were all extras. The waitress is trained to ask you if you’d like your food jazzed up but frogets to let you know that these treats all cost extra. I was asked if I wanted toppings on my hash browns and she acted surprised when I declined. For $40 I want a dinner or at least a fabulous lunch. Will never be back.
I love Smitty’s! I’ve been coming here for years and I always have a great time with great service and a great breakfast selection. A little pricey for a breakfast stop but worth it because of portion and menu options. I will be back again soon
Smitty’s in Peterborough have been running an AD in Peterborough This Week’s Clip or click section . It reads SMITTY’S BREAKFAST SPECIAL STARTING AT $4.49 INCLUDING UNLIMITED COFFEE . MY WIFE AND I USED TO GO THERE ON A REGULAR BASIS BUT HADN’T BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE . I SUGGESTED WE GO SOMETIME SOON AND CHECK OUT THIS SPECIAL . ON SATURDAY PAST WE WENT IN INTENDING ON HAVING BREAKFAST . A FRIENDLY WAITRESS GAVE US MEMU’S , THE ONLY THING WE COULD FIND STARTED AT $13.99 AND UP , THE WAITRESS CAME TO TAKE OUR ORDER AND I ASKED ABOUT THE BREAKFAST SPECIAL . OH THAT IS ONLY ON DURING THE WEEK , IT IS REGULAR PRICES ON WEEKEND . I EXPLAINED WE WERE SENIORS AND DIDN’T WANT TO HAVE A BREAKFAST THAT WOULD COST US OVER $30 ., WOULD SOONER GETADINNER INSTEAD . SHE SAID SHE WAS SORRY AND SHE UNDERSTOOD , THEN LEFT TO RETURN TO GIVE US THE BILL FOR 2 COFFEES , WITH TAX IT CAME TO $4.80 AND THE COFFEE WAS NOT THE BEST I EVER HAVE HAD . WE PAID OUR BILL AND LEFT SOMEWHAT UNHAPPY AND SAYING THEY WILL NOT GET A 2ND CHANCE TO GOUGE US . THE SAME AD APPEARS AGAIN THIS WEEK , NO PLACE IN THE AD DOES IT SAY WEEK DAYS ONLY . THIS IS WRONG AND THE PUBLIC IS BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF , BE CAREFUL OF THIS RESTAURANT ,WE WILLNEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN .
Horrible, seemed like they didn’t even know how to properly poach an egg! No one enjoyed breakfast that I was with and have heard bad reviews from others! Will not be returning.. Also would like to say the skillet which is advertised to come with heaps of hollandaise sauce did not have any sauce only melted cheese !!!!
Awesome !. Vacationing up in Canada from New York and happened to come across Smitty’s while on our way back from Grocery Shopping. My husband and I loved the Breakfast we had … steak & eggs / mushroom cheese omelette .. Very large portions and great service !! So happy we found this great place. We will definitely be back …. : )
