Why?. I am perplexed by all the good reviews for this place. The pizza, for me, is bland and overpriced. The only thing worse than their fresh pizza is one of the slices that have been fermenting under the glass case for who knows how long. I have given the Night Kitchen three tries. That was two too many. I am done.
I heard rave reviews about their pizza before moving to the city. Especially the diverse range of vegan pizza options. Until I stopped by for a slice and my ‘vegan’ pizza had bits of meat on it. Probably from cross contamination. Will definitely not be going back since their food handling is obviously not as careful as I would like.
Not my idea of a tasty pizza slice.. I haven’t been to the Night Kitchen for quite a while due to the fact that almost every time I got a slice it was dry and lacked what I consider a necessary requirement for pizza, a sauce. For what you get the price is a bit higher than the average slice on the street. I prefer Pizza Nova for taste and overall eating experience.
Great Pizza!. Friendly staff and homemade delicious pizza. This is an unexpected pleasure in a small city like Peterborough. Great to have such a tasty option to Pizza Pizza etc.
Omg. This place used to rock and now the pizzas look like they were put together by special education co-op students, and taste like it too. Even if you’re drunk and nothing else is open, it’s no excuse to put out slices that look as bad as they taste. With crust so thin and limp, you’d think Delicio was better value. That’s because it is.I remember when The Night Kitchen first opened in the early 2000’s, they used to put out a product that was made like someone cared. I had never had pizza with pesto sauce before I tried their stuff. In fact, all the ingredients and the way they made the pizzas with the cornmeal on the bottom suggested to me that they wanted to be different. Who else puts proscuitto on pizza or has a kind of chutney sauce on the counter that is really tasty? Nobody. When I go to Montreal, I have yet to find any place like The Night Kitchen or what they serve. Then again, in Montreal, pizza is different than what you get here in Ontario. The trouble is that the mainstream pizza chains offer value and not really quality, while older established pizza places offer mediocre and predictable pizza that doesn’t suggest their price equals value. The Night Kitchen is on a busy street frequented by drunk and cheerful adults who enjoy good food. They have to start bringing quality back,
Day olds?. I am not sure how long the slices here are allowed to sit out, but it is not good!
Spot on. I often wish that there was a place like this in Victoria. This place is always awsome.
