I had become a regular customer until the employees bad service made me never return. My boyfriend and I had discovered this place and started going here regularly however one day we went there and it will be our last. We got to the restaurant and placed an order. Once we said our order they said that the debit machine was not working. So my boyfriend left trying to find a nearby atm unfortunately none were working. Before leaving the store they asked if we still want the order. I told them I was not sure because I was not sure at this point if he was able to get cash and left the store. The following day we decided to return and we were met with a very bad attitude from the employees. They said that the day previous they made our order although I had told them that I was not sure if we would be able to get cash for it. They then said we must pay for 50% of our order from the day before in order to place an order. I was shocked! I explained that I had said I was not sure if I still wanted the order and told them I would be back if I still want one . They then stared at us and said they had to waste the food they made. Our order was literally $15. I felt so disrespected by them and have never returned. Terrible Terrible service

Not since I’ve returned from the tasty streets of Bangkok have I found a Thai dish in the Greater Toronto Area that fully replicated my Thai food experience. Well – that time has come to an end thanks to Hot Mama Noi’s in Pickering. I ordered the Chicken Spicy Basil ($10) which was described as chicken with basil, bell peppers, onions, and a pinch of Thai chili served with steamed Thai rice. The appearance of the dish brought me back to the Chatuchak Weekend Market I visited during my travels. The unreal balance of flavour and heat is exactly what I have been looking for. The combination of ingredients was perfect. As I had greeted the staff in Thai, the chef came to speak with me and we both shared some stories about our love for Thai street food. I can’t wait to go back! I will probably go back tomorrow. Go to Mama Noi’s on Bayly 😛

This place is fantastic. The food is exactly what they say it is – authentic Thai food made with fresh ingredients and served with a smile. My only complaint is that I wish the place was licenced so that I could wash down the pad thai with a beer. Other than that, this is an excellent place for Thai food.

Best Thai in the GTA. I love Thai food, I mean LOVE IT!!!! I discovered Hot Mama Noi’s a few years back and hold all other thai food up to Mama Noi’s standard. So far nothing I have had, has come close to comparable. She cooks everything from scratch using real ingredients and traditional recipes and cooking methods from Thailand. The Red Curry is the best I’ve had and at absolutely amazing prices. In addition to great food, you can expect great atmosphere from a very kind and friendly staff, and if you are lucky you will even get to chat with Hot Mama Noi herself. It is a deceiving restaurant from the outside, the decor inside is slowly improving over the years, but you don’t go to Mama’s for the ambiance, you go for the most flavourful and balanced Thai food around. If you live in Toronto it is worth the drive (or Go train ride as it is right next to the station) to Pickering for a great Thai meal.

Great Clean restaurant. I have been to every Thai restaurant in Pickering. What impresses me is that you can see their kitchen, I commented that I thought it looked so clean and orderly from the counter where you can look in. She invited me to take a look where her mom was cooking, and so clean, fresh food, and freshly cooked as ordered, none made in batches. I highly recommend this quaint family style Thai restaurant.Kim

Great Authentic Thai. My wife and I lived in Thailand for awhile, and our second daughter was born there. I wouldn’t call us Thai food experts, but we know a bit about Thai food.Unlike most Thai restaurants in Toronto, Mama Noi’s is authentic Thai. Coming from the Isaan region of Northeastern Thailand, the food is not as spicy as what you’ll experience in the south, but is full of complex flavours. The food is always fresh, flavourful and definitely authentic. Along with Jatujak on Kingston Road, this is one of the best Thai restaurants on the east side, and their prices are much lower than found in downtown TO.

Our #1 fav weekly lunchtime destination. If you work in the area and don’t regularly eat at HMNTOTF, get out of my face.
