Delicious!. We were introduced to this restaurant by my sister last year when we visited thunder Bay and ordered the apple, bacon, onion with honey pizza and absolutely loved it! The service was great with fabulous food and at a beautiful location. It will now be a must to go to this restaurant every year when we visit family in Thunder Bay.I have to add that my sister is vegan and they are always very accommodating to her needs 🙂 Love it!

Really on the fence with this place. I was recently in Thunder Bay for work and stopped by Bight with a co-worker and her friend, as she recommended it due to it’s picturesque location right by Lake Superior. The building itself is very nice and the big windows create a refreshing and enjoyable dining environment. Despite being there on a Monday, it was quite busy when we arrived, however, we were sat immediately at the bar (as there was no room in the dining room, but we didn’t really care). We were then greeted by our friendly server who took our drink orders and dropped them off quickly. First off, he dropped off some complementary flat bread and ricotta cheese spread. The flat bread was good, however the ricotta cheese spread was really dull and didn’t do much for me. We all really liked the flat bread, and got some more…because our food was taking so very long. I ordered the shrimp and lobster pasta, my colleague ordered the veggie burger with fries, and her friend got the filet, medium-rare. We sat, and waited. And waited. And then waited some more. Both groups that were sitting on either side of us, who got there and ordered later than we did, got their food a good 10-15 minutes before us. The server approached us and apologized for the long wait, but he did not explain why there was such a delay. Our food finally arrived after a good 45 minutes of waiting. I brushed it off- sometimes mistakes or delays happen, it’s understandable. The big bowl that my pasta was served in makes it look like a tiny serving, however it was anything but. Keep in mind that I ordered the lobster and shrimp pasta- however I only found a couple pieces of lobster in the dish, with a lot more shrimp. The ros-type sauce was really overpowering and I felt that there was just way too much for my liking, however the pasta was cooked perfectly. My colleague said her veggie burger was good, and had a falafel-type taste to it. Her friend’s filet was cooked to her liking and she also said she enjoyed it. Not sure if I am being too picky, but I personally expect, for a $30 bowl of pasta, that I would get a little more lobster and a lot less sauce. Our server was attentive and friendly, but once again, I would’ve liked to have known why it took so long for our food. In my opinion, I am really on the fence with my experience at Bight. The location is definitely a plus, however, judging by the other reviews, it looks like this newer restaurant does have a lot of work to do yet. Maybe I’ll return again when it is more established and has worked its kinks out.

Food is overpriced, servers are grumpy. Will not return again.

Give it a chance!. Wow after reading such negative reviews I knew I had to tell visitors and locals alike about this contemporary hot spot and praise it realisticslly even with some minor shortcomings. Visited this restaurant for the long weekend during lunch with family, we were greeted and seated promptly and our server was very warm and friendly. It got increasingly and unusually busy after 1:30pm and I could see the staff struggling to keep up (which they apologized for) but for us,why rush when you can enjoy the spectacular view and good company of family and friends. Lunch was a bit more reasonably priced than dinner but they put a modern spin on the dishes. I had the grilled cheese with roasted garlic tomato soup, loved the filling sandwich and used the soup to dip but I probably wouldn’t get the soup again. The fries looked, smelled and tasted amazing, you could feel the envy of those in the room when yours arrived. If you’re looking for something new to try in thunder bay, look no further! Give it a shot!

Great but expect a bit of a wait. I felt a I needed to wait before I posted anything about this restaurant. I did not want to be one of those people who created an account for the sake of hating a dining experience due to a first visit or even a second. First the food is fantastic. Second the service is great. Now, the wait time was a bit long, but when I walk into a busy place I expect it. I sat at the bar and ordered some very good cocktails. When my table was available the host was very accommodating and catered to my needs. The pizza, and burger I ordered took sometime, but I knew since the place was busy it had to be good. I have dined many places and this place is at par with the trendiest places I have visited: New York, Chicago, Miami, Las Vegas and L.A. I do look at reviews which help me determine where to eat and I was on the fence when I read some of these. Good thing I decide my own fate. Great place gorgeous atmosphere and surroundings. I will be back.

My Favourite Thunder Bay Place to Eat!!!!. This is my all time favourite place to eat in Thunder Bay, lunch or dinner, all seasons. The food is reliably good and the service attentive but not intrusive! The menu is high quality casual food, approaching gourmet! I love the room and the elegant but informal atmosphere, especially in the evening in the winter. The warm fire and sparkling winter scenery and adjacent outdoor activity on the skating rink always add to the experience. I often stop by for light bite at the bar and enjoy the welcome I receive from the friendly bartenders. Again, attentive, but not intrusive!I recommend this place as a must visit to all my out of town friends when they are here.

Crappy Service. Stay away this place has the worst service in Thunder Bay. Food is over priced, they run of of dishes after you have ordered. Its got a nice location, that’s about the best of it. Read the reviews there are More negative than positive for a reason. Total disregard for any consistent type of customer service . Slow , long waits, missing reservations, the story goes on and on. We won’t be recommending anyone to this place except to walk by.
