Trolled through local reviews and selected this quaint little spot. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I order the Tre Porcelliini on a recommendation from the staff and I wasn’t sorry, if you want good Italian come to this place you will not regret it
I went here in the summer of 2015 ordered the godfather sandwich always wanted to try a meatball style it was okay nothing memorable. Got a horrible stomach ache some time later therefore would not revisit….
Well this was a pleasant surprise. We had passed Papa Giuseppe’s many times over the years, and this evening we stopped in for dinner. Inside the restaurant is long and narrow, featuring a lot of dark, rustic wood. The restaurant was almost full, but there were a couple of two-tops left and we were promptly seated. We started out by sharing one Caesar Salad. I have to say that it was one of the better Caesar salads that I have had in a while. I really liked the generous amount of crispy pancetta added to the salad. Along with the salad came some soft flatbread and three dips: antipasta, oil and balsamic, and pizza sauce. I liked all three. Then on to the main course, where SWMBO selected Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was tender and not overcooked, topped with pats of melted mozzarella. The pasta was fettuccini, cooked to a proper al dente. The sauce had a pleasant zesty flavour.I had Nonna’s Pizza, with chicken, rapini, red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke, mozzarella, romano. All the ingredients looked and tasted fresh. The crust had a light crispy bottom. the pizza was served with a pair of scissors, so that you could cut each piece as big or as small as you wanted. The one down side: A family three tables over saw fit to allow their two-year old to sit through dinner watching a movie on a tablet, with the volume turned on. It wasn’t loud, but it was a bit distracting.
Papa Giuseppe’s is one of two places in Port ||Credit, Mississauga that I’ve visited on more that a couple of occasions. Not a big restaurant, so you need to get there early on a weekend night or be prepared for a wait. My go to dish was their smoked duck spaghetti. Pour some of their chili oil on that dish and you’re in pasta heaven. I was there two days ago and was really disappointed to learn that they had taken this off of their menu. It’s sometimes offered as a special but not on the night I was there which meant I had to find another dish. I ended up going with Nonna’s Pasta: Fettuccini sauteed with rapini, Italian sausage, roasted garlic & infused olive oil, pomodoro sauce, pecorino & parmiagiano cheese. This was very good with the rapini giving it that nice bit of bitterness.I’m not a fan of tomato sauce and the waiter offered a rose sauce instead which worked really well, what he didn’t offer was the fact that they would charge me and extra $3.00 for this substitution. I only found out when I received my bill. Not cool! I don’t mind paying extra for something but tell me.Service was not the greatest, my server would walk by and not once stop to see if we needed anything. I had to ask another server for water, who brought a bottle and glasses, put them on the table and walked away. Asked another for the dessert menu and to pack up my leftovers and for the bill.My pasta dish while it was very tasty was not worth the 20.99. Especially when I found out that this is not fresh made pasta. Because of the additional charge for the sauce, the poor service, and the fact that I was charged $20.99 for a pasta dish that contained pasta that wasn’t made in house I am giving Papa Giusieppe’s a 2.0 rating. goatrotichronicles.ca
if you can’t make it to Italy, make sure to stop for a true Italian pasta dish at Papa Giuseppe’s. delicious cuisine with a true hole in the wall Italian restaurant feel. they also have a heated in-closed patio to enjoy. make sure to try a Perone; Italian beer! yum
My husband and I have been looking for a good Italian restaurant in Mississauga for a while. We decided to try this place for lunch and it definitely did not disappoint us. The tiramisu is one the best I have ever had.
Exceptional Tomato Sauce!. Loved this spot for lunch. Reasonably priced, decent portions. Pizzas and pastas were original and perfectly cooked. If you have a choice, go to the back for a table – bright and airy.
