Can’t wait to try more from here had their gelato last summer I believe it was hazelnut in a cone enjoyed it so much I came back this year. Great to grab and take a walk near the waterfront with this time I was in the mood for the grapefruit and vanilla the vanilla fell kind of flat but otherwise $10 for 2 people is not bad. I’m heartbroken they have closed over the summer of 2018 I don’t know where i’ll go for my gelato fix now but I have to say I will cherish the memories of this quaint cafe.
I must say that this is by far the best place in its class. I came across Port 1 Cafe in 2014 and I kept on coming back ever since. I really enjoy the variety on their menu. From beverages and multiple kinds of gelato to a perfectly grilled sandwiches and wraps, there are many combinations to suit any occasion.Owner Shawn and his staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful, making it a great and fun place to always visit and enjoy.
Crappiest gelato and can’t serve cappuccino properly of their life depended on it. Manager didn’t care that they didn’t make the cappuccino properly. Fist it was cold then they remade it without the froth and blamed it on the to go cups.
Without a doubt the best gelato I’ve had outside of Italy (and even better than many in Italy). The gelato is fresh and made in-store. I make a point to stop in every time I’m in the Toronto area. The location, staff and facilities are all top-notch. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Tip: Underground parking is just north of the caf, at the lights for Park St, turn into the condo, 1 Hurontario.I was too stuffed from brunch, to enjoy any treats (or even gelato), so I only had the space for a herbal tea. However, based on my impression from enjoying a tea with a few gfs, I thought the place was very welcoming and warm!I was looking forward to sweets made by Amy Smith, or other indie bakers, but all that was available were Dufflet pastries. I thought they also carried stuff from Danish Pastry House, but I could be mistaken.Their focus seems to be homemade food, including personal pizzas, sandwiches, & soups, gelato, & their caffeinated drinks. I hope to try out some foods during my next visit…NOT after a big brunch meal!
I love this place! It is extremely clean and washrooms are always spotless (washroom cleanliness is a make or break factor for me). The owner is almost always there and makes sure you have a good time and are enjoying your stay. The other staff are friendly too. The gelato tastes great and the coffee is excellent too. I dont know, I really can’t see anything bad about this place. The last reviewer said didnt give a 5 because her gelato melted on her hands! LOL be reasonable! Get it in a cone or wash your hands in their spotless washroom
I have never tried any of their food.. just stopped in and had a strawberry yogurt gelato on a hot day and it was delicious especially considering there isn’t many options in Mississauga for gelato. The caf is small and cute. The only thing Ididn’t likeis they pack your gelato in these tiny plastic cups and it melts quickly and you end of having a melty mess on your hands.
