Brunch. Great place for Sunday brunch. Check the time so you don’t get there too early!
Remarkable range of great food!. Went first time for brunch in this quaint and stylish bistro and was blown away by their French toast dish. like nothing I’ve ever had before…a gracious helping of fresh bread dipped in a secret batter then stuffed with a melody of cream cheese, apple cinnamon slices, and crushed nuts. pouring over it warmed REAL maple syrup, made this dish a heavenly delight for a sunday morning brunch. Finished with a robust flavourfull and aromatic double espresso. Highly recommend it…with your loved one, friends, or even with your morning paper alone for some peace and quiet.
Brunch took about an hour to come out and the restaurant wasn’t very busy, either but my goodness was it ever delicious when it finally arrived!
After hearing great things, we set Port 229 for our mom’s night out with 8 friends. After an hour and a half our appetizers arrived, and an hour after that our main courses. The food was unremarkable. Considering the length of time we waited and the price I was hoping for something delicious, or at least memorable. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning.
Great!. Just enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Port 229! First visit and we are so glad we discovered this tiny treasure in Port Credit! Everything we had for dinner was wonderful but we especially enjoyed the Charcuterie sharing platter! Chef Dialo’s pate is so good! Service and atmosphere was great too!
My Experience. I agree with the comments that the food was good but the staff were rude when I went. The chef thinks he is Gordon Ramsey. I have met many famous chefs in Toronto- Mark Mcewn, Massimo Capra and Michael Bonnacini and they were all so humble and friendly. Word of mouth goes a long way port 229. I’m very sorry to say I will not return to this restaurant.
Dinner review August ‘ 13. Bravo to the wonderful staff of this engaging restaurant. Exceptional food and service. Attention to detail is exhibited in everything ,from the selection of single malts to the stemware, one cannot help but feel welcomed here.I believe at one point I might have actually stood up and applauded.Certainly an ardent recommendation from all.( party of 4 ).
