Unless you are really looking for it, you might miss the Allencourt Restaurant. It is tucked into the north west corner of a very small plaza on the north west corner of Bayview and Major Mackenzie. High probability that it is frequented mostly by locals. Decor looks like it is about 30 or 40 years old, and could use some freshening up. The staff are friendly, and the food is reasonably good.I had the Eggs Benny special. The peameal bacon gave it a nice salty bite. SWMBO had the Chicken Greek Salad, with tender pieces of chicken. A little unusual for Greek salads was the absence of black olives.Might go back again.

We just had lunch there and ordered 3 cheeseburgers with fries and a drink. It came to FORTY THREE dollars. I nearly died of shock. I wont ever eat there again.

Dinner review. Well went to Allencourt for a delicious dinner of fish and chips as have not been there since the new owners. WORSE MISTAKE EVER came out of there with a mouthful of grease. The plate came and looked fantastic. Put a fork in the batter of the fish and wow air gushed out Where oh where was my fish! Well just have to find a new location that really serves fish and not grease!!

Great place for halibut and chips. Big portion size and the coleslaw is good too! Wait staff is also fast friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back and might make this place our Friday night dinner place!

Best fish I had Ever!. Love, love the fish and chips, fast and friendly service!! I go to eat , not to judge the women. To the person named Jenny, She is absolutely, wrong!!! You can’t get a decent size portion anywhere else!!Left very full!! I am very glad that the new owners kept all the old staff! and cleaned it up! Old customer for 15 years.

RIP Allencourt!! – New Owner Alert!! 2012Long due for a review, none done for 2 years it appears. So we decided to head down to our favorite Fish and Chips place north of Toronto. We have been going to this place for 11 years. I’ve talked to people in their late 40’s and say this was their local place when they were kids or in Highschool. The place was always had a 70’s feel to it. Down to the SwardFish on the walls and elderly crowd who knows where to get great meal deal for the dollar. This place was hopping with normaly 2-3 wait staff and was family run for the longest time…..well, well, well…Things have changed….We recently had our Halibut and Fish but noticed a few things about the place…1) Gone are the Sward Fish on the walls and the benifits of eating fish my kids loved to read. 2) Our friendly wait staff was replaced with bigger chested staff the way my hubby loves them 😛 3) The Halibut and portions seem to have Shrunk more beer batter and thinner slices not like the steak like portion in yesteryear. DONT even ask for the kids Fish and Chips as its seems large but mostly beer batter dough ball now. Sad to say but there is more fish in three Captain Highlighner frozen oven fish what they call fish.4) Dont forget to ask for lots of napkins for blotting the fish, its oil soaked not like before and the ketcup my kids noticed was runny and did not taste like Heinz. I tried and agreed. We were scared and never ordered the once famous Rice Puddding. 5) Gone are the Senior citizens have been eating here since they were Teens.A friend told me they are never going here and I pleaded and told them how wrong they were. I think they were right. Iam I the only one who noticed this? Just dont read this! Mobile review or add comments 6) The prices have gone up for a decent Fish and Chips, dont be misled by Under $10 as this page sugggst. So fairwell Allencourt for me. Unless I hear better and things change I dont plan on going anymore. I now need to make a trip to the city or place anyone else can suggest where the Halibut does not taste precooked, portions are thicker and enough less greese to do lube job on my car. I need Suggestions!!
