Used to come to this place very often because they have decent food with an affordable price. However, their quality of food seems to be getting worse every time I go there. Their service is getting very bad as well. Their servers don’t seem to care about their customers at all. They are too into chitchating among themselves. If you don’t care about customer service and would like big portions with cheap price, this is a place for you. blogsters.blogspot.com
I noticed this place the last time I visited Inatei next door. This is a HK Western style restaurant. With the number of patrons that I saw, I thought this would be a good place to try out. Their regular lunch specials were $8.50 across the board. I went during afternoon tea hours so that I could order something good and cheap. They did have a special afternoon tea menu, however the price and the items did not look appealing. There is nothing substantial there for under $6. I ended up ordering their satay beef noodle combo with eggs/toast on the side. It was pretty average stuff for $5.75. With the amount of competition in the area, I would not go back again during any hours!
I got the pork chop with macaroni noodle soup ($5.29) and my mom got the beef brisket lo mien ($5.99). My pork chop was marinated in lemon grass which was a nice surprise but 1/4 of it was inedible because of the bone and fatty parts. The brisket was super tense though. Everything is just mediocre but then again we didn’t order anything out of the ordinary. I would come back for the Hoi Nam chicken on rice though cause it looks so good. Both meals came with a hot drink. jyaueats.wordpress.com
The open concept deco is really simple. The space feels really spacious and inviting. Tons of booth seating which is great for small group.Chi Star House is kind of a mixture of Cantonese and Hong Kong Style Cafe. With breakfast (8-11), lunch (11-3), afternoon tea (2:30-5:30) and dinner (5- 11 pm). All time slot has set special available the includes a drink or a soup.I have been here a handful of time for lunch and afternoon tea. The food is not amazing but quite solid and consistent so is the service. Not a bad choice if you just want something fast and quick!
