I’ve ordered delivery and the young girl on the phone was so nice and pleasant! I like the black pepper steak and the peppered seafood. Delivery’s kind of busy on weekends though so I would call before you are really starving. 😛
Best , cleanest, service is great and owner always looks to please his customers. We have been going here and ordering for many many years and never once had a bad experience! The food is always fresh and delicious and we always feel like we are the most important customers there… ALL JAMES CUSTOMERS FEEL THAT WAY.
Dont do it!. Okay so my partner and I recently relocated to Richmond Hill from BC so we have been trying a lot of different restaurants out here to find our favourite ones. We tried the Choice of the Orient because it is conveniently open late and is also conveniently on my home from work. The first time I ordered take-out from there we ordered the dinner for two which says it comes with chow mein, but what they failed to tell us was that the chow mein isn’t actual chow mein but just a bunch a bean sprouts in a sauce. I was furious considering chow mein is one of the best parts about ordering chinese food. But oh well. Anyways, we thought we would try it out again a month later and this time I ordered the dinner for 2 but asked to have the chow mein noodles, and they said sure but it will be a $4.00 extra charge.. I mean wow. I paid for it and was still very disappointing in the quality of the food. Jump forward 4 months and once again I decided to give it one last shot with the dinner for 2, this time ordering won ton soup on the side. BIG MISTAKE. I paid the extra $4.00 for the chow mein noodles again, they tasted much better this time HOWEVER the won ton noodles were the most disgusting noodles I have ever tasted. They were soooooo doughy and had very little filling inside of them, very little. It was all dough. We then went on to try the egg rolls and they tasted like rubber. It was awful. Needless to say we will not be ordering from there or going there ever again. We gave them 3 chances and even though the people that work there are friendly I will not be wasting my money there ever again.
AMAZING CHINESE FOOD!!!!!!. Choice of the Orient demonstrates amazing skill in the chinese culinary arts. Tons of choices to pick from, and no matter what, the food is always amazing. Fresh, tasty healthier than most other chinese restaurants, and not dripping with fat, Choice of the Orient is truly an amazing dining expeirence. Reccomend to anybody. Never get sick from it and never will. 5/5 stars.
Great Food. … and great staff… James has run a good establishment for years… highly recommend for westernized chinese food!
Great food, great service. Been there at least 20 times now and have ordered delivery at least 5 times – food is always great and the service is conistently good. Great value – especially when you have 4 or more people and can share the big family style portions!Unlike many Chinese food places the food won’t leave you feeling bloated 2 hours later – not sure if they use (or don’t use) ingredients others use but it’s a great overall experience.
Somewhat Canadianized But Acceptable Chinese. E: A friend and I went to Choice Of The Orient for dinner interested in trying this prominent Chinese restaurant. The menu covered all the Chinese essentials including noodles, fried rice, wonton and tofu. The noodles were fresh and warm. They did not skimp on the quantity. They shouldn’t, given the above average prices as this is a proper sit-down restaurant. The hot and sour soup was OK as well – the one at Richmond Court is superior – but that is the challenge with Choice Of The Orient. It tasted like the kitchen has Canadianized the dishes. They were not bland, but were not the most flavoursome Chinese dishes ever. Its advantage is that the dishes are less oily tasting than average.-A: The restaurant has several Chinese ornaments, but do not go there expecting a raised platform with a red backdrop and a golden dragon. They offer both delivery and take-out and this latter option, at least, seemed popular as several people walked in and out with their orders. The outside is curtained off from the inside and vice-versa.-T: Service is quick and fast. The restaurant was neither busy nor vacant at early dinner time. The parking lot on Yonge street is busy, but less so in front of the restaurant.-S: The waiter was courteous and quick. They purport to be higher-end Chinese and do a little bit to show it. Never mind the take-out foot traffic. As strange as it is this area of Yonge Street does not offer many Chinese restaurants. Choice Of The Orient has been here for many years. A restaurant called Oriental Court south of Highway 7 closed several years ago as well.
