Delicious Italian Food – Great Chef. A smallish, modest room but the real headliner is Chef Johnny. Citro is a favourite spot and I find it ideal for a special occasion or when craving a great meal. Chef Johnny is passionate about food and insists on using the freshest ingredients. Lovely Soups (Beet and Carrot), Salads, Bruschetta (fresh and bright) & Pastas (love the Bolognese, Penne), and the Mushroom Risotto (outstanding). Deserts are all made in house and are perfect. The creme brulee is a must try. Service is down to earth and attentive. Very fair and reasonable prices.04 Jun, 2013A wonderful find in Richmond Hill. If you’re looking for snooty service and sub-par Italian, go elsewhere. Chef Johnny is passionate about his craft. Fresh, delicious food and good value is what he delivers. Do not pass on dessert. Tiramisu and creme brule like no other.
Never disappoints. I have gone to Citro’s quite a few times and the food is always amazing! Easily there is no better Italian food in Toronto or the GTA!If you are vegetarian ask Johnny, who is a Master Chef, to make you the Linguine in virgin olive oil and garlic with veggies. If you like spicy let him. AS a matter of fact all of his dishes are great and all my friends who are non vegetarian love his restaurant.5 Stars for Citro!Vic
Looks can be deceiving.. When you order your food, it comes to you in a plate, but the food itself appears small; do not let that fool you, it can stuff a person… and I can eat a lot.If you catch them on a busy night, the food does come slow, but at least the drinks and appetizers come earlier (be sure to order those first if you’re expecting a wait). The staff is phenomenally friendly and despite the busyness at times, they maintain their professionalism and friendly attitude through and through. The food is nice, they occasionally have the angel hair pasta on their daily special (whose name escapes me), but I always order that when it appears, because its so good! The location itself is small so seating capacity is limited, but there are enough tables for a big party to multiple small groups. Their biggest (non-combined) table seats 6 max.Oh, and do not mind the flinker of the light; that cursed dishwasher can be a hog sometimes…
SURPRISE. We were quite surprised to find such good food in a small cozy setting.Good service with excellent food, highly recommended. Btw price is very reasonable too.
Neighbourhood Gem. This place has fantastic food, fresh ingredients and a skilled chef who knows how to please. I’m sad it’s not more popular but happy at the same time – I feel like that makes it more mine! The last time I was in, I was reading the specials and the chef offered to make me something that he’d just gotten in minutes earlier – fresh mussels. They were amazing! I’ve enjoyed pastas, pizzas and various specials and in fact, think I’ll head there right now. A quiet unassuming little place with delicious eats.
Amazing, everything was cooked to perfection using the freshest ingrediants. Bright flavours, good portions, fast and friendly service. This is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to review a restuarant, it was that good!
