Came here for lunch with some friends late Saturday morning. There was a long line up in the waiting area and we were able to get a table because my friend had grabbed a number earlier on and waited for 1.5 hours. The service was good, and the food was great! We ordered some classics, like: chicken feet, filled rice noodle rolls with soya sauce, and siu mai. There were also some unique dishes I enjoyed, like: chicken curry tarts and green tea crepe rolls filled with peanuts. There were a few issues that I noticed which kept me from giving the experience 5 stars:- The food was served over an **extremely** drawn-out amount of time. We didn’t get some of the dishes that we ordered in the 1st round until we had almost finished all the food we ordered in the 2nd round. (Probably about a period of over an hour)- Even though we ordered two of the (highly coveted) shrimp dumplings, we only got one of them and the second never appeared.- The washrooms could use a bit more maintenance.Overall, the food was great for an amazing price (it came to under $20 per person for our group!) and portions were reasonable. I would definitely return if I’m ever in the area!
We have been here many times and yesterday was the worst experience ever. we asked the server to check on the BBQ pork dish we had ordered 45 mins prior and the server instead of going to check said it’s coming it’s coming it’s coming and rudely walked away. After another few moments we asked her again saying other tables that sat down after us got the dish and we hadn’t yet. The server again instead of checking argued that those ppl came first….. so almost an hour after ordering we ask the server again and she checks. She then comes back and rudely said we didn’t order it and therefore the order was not placed. I asked if that was the case shouldn’t she have told us it was never ordered the first time we asked her to check. At this point she was extremely rude and I asked to speak to a manager and he inspected our order sheet which clearly stated that we checked it off and what timeIt was orderedManagement should really look into how their staff treats ppl. All the server had to do was check when she was asked. Then if the order wasn’t placed she can explain and order it. Then when your staff finds out they messed up apologize and move on. Don’t stand there arguing with the customer. Don’t accuse your customers of things until you’re really sure. Your staff is plain lazy. Or only care about serving the regulars that go there
This is the first time I’ve written a review in my life. Second time visiting this place. I had to wait for more than 15 minutes to order food. This restaurant on a weekday was not busy at all. All the manager are only talking to each other and laughing. They clearly saw our table but choose to ignore our request. Finally 1 of the manager her name Joyce came with the most horrible and obnoxious attitude. She kept looking around when our table was ordering, she clearly does not know what customer services means. She had a bad attitude. The food was super oily, to the point it was lying on the surface of every dish. I don’t recommend this place at all. Unless customers would like to experience what horrible customer service.
I would have to say that the dimsum was worth the wait (well, and I had some catching up to do with my friend which helped pass the wait time). The BBQ pork buns, pork siomai and shrimp hargow were delicious! The dumplings were packed and not with fillers. They were very tasty and came in good servings. The cheong fun (rice noodle roll) was also good, especially with the sweet soy sauce. The taro puff came with quail egg. How delightful! The Octopus tentacles were nicely deep fried and had a slight crunch to it. These were perfectly seasoned and not oily. This was the only dish which was $5.80 per order. All the others were $2.80 (before 11am). Service was fast enough and the presentation was wonderful. The dimsum was served in square steamers and the hargow had an actual shrimp in the middle. Best dimsum in town! wanderlustingmama.blogspot.com
I came here for dimsum with family visiting from out of town and I truly feel it was a mistake. I only came here because I read the reviews and also from word of mouth that this place is really delicious. Just like any dim sum place on the weekends this place was rammed!!! I’m so happy I made reservations. I’m a huge fan of steamed shrimp dumplings and I didn’t like them here, they tasted bland. We also ordered the bbq and avocado rice noodle roll as it was recommended as a house special.. it was strange. Their deep fried taro with quail egg was also really dry. They didn’t serve the deep fried dumpling which I love and they also didn’t serve the deep fried shrimp wontons! I just wanted everyone to have a good meal but I think everyone left unimpressed which breaks my heart because dim sum is so good!! I should have taken everyone to my original spot which is dim sum specialist.
Crazy crazy wait time for dim sum. But definitely worth it! We had to wait for over an hour, closer to an hour and a half on a Sunday morning (around 11am). The food tastes really amazing. I would definitely recommend their cha siu (bbq pork) if they have it. It reminds me a little of the BBQ pork in Hong Kong. The dim sum comes in little square wooden steamers and all of their food is nicely presented. It is a little on the pricier side for dim sum, but I think the presentation and quality of the food make it reasonable.
First of all, parking sucks, special pricing is in effect before 11am, after that it is regular price- slightly above the norm for Toronto. Food quality is good. Service is slightly above driving cattle!!! LOL I went once and would go back, although I wouldn’t even attempt a visit on a weekend. There are far better options, just not at the early morning price point.
