Great selection on food but you have to be careful very large portions there’s a lot of different sauces which makes it good so u can create your own combo!

I came here on a Wednesday night with a bunch of coworkers. What better way to discuss office gossip than around a hotpot. Only half the restaurant was full at around 7pm. They give you a free pitcher of ice tea and plum drink. For the six of us, they opened three stove tops for us. Each hotpot container can have two different types of broth. So literally, each of us had our own broth. I feasted over a satay and suicidal hot broths. Each person can have a seafood platter that contains a mussels, salmon, and shrimps. Other items include beef, squid, tofu, veggies, fish balls, beef balls, pork balls, and my favorite squid balls. Pardon the balls. They also have fresh fish paste which was quite good as well. For the price $24.99 and the mess you make it’s a pretty good deal. They also have cooked items such as sticky rice, fried egg plant, fried tofu, and dessert. Highly recommend it on a cold winter night.

I only came here because 100 degrees closed down and I needed my hot pot fix. My bf and I were seated all the way at the back of the restaurant where the servers would barely walk over to. Every time we needed to order more meat we had to wave like crazy for someone to notice us, and when they did they would keep forgetting our order. That was very annoying. The meat was alright except for the lamb which tasted weird, and the beef and squid balls weren’t good either. Overall, the place didn’t look so clean, service was poor, and the food was so-so. foodieelove.com

Kim Tao is an AYCE Hot pot restaurant in Richmond Hill. The place itself is HUGE. They’ve got so many damn tables, I would find it hard to believe if they ever were too busy to get you a table. Though not the cleanest place in the world, there aren’t many hot pot restaurants that are.The menu for dinner offers quite a bit of selection. As with many places, pricing will vary depending on if you want the seafood selection or not. The seafood selection offers a variety of items, but I honestly only come for meats anyways. They have a wide range of meats like beef, lamb, pork, and chicken (sounds standard), but they also have an impressive list of meat balls as well. The broth list here is also pretty good as they have options including regular broth and their special spicy broth, which is a bit more intense than other hot pot places I’ve been to. The spicy broth is killer with the red meats and such, but otherwise, everything else like veggies and such should be cooked in the light broth. They have some other items like sticky rice and desserts, but if you have room for those, you’re not doing a good job at the hot pot. The place is OK and service is a bit lackluster, but I guess they have a lot of floor to cover. The prices are a bit higher than I thought it would be, but still not bad. cheatdayeveryday.com

I agree with most of what people said. First time here and I noticed the place is jammed packed and the meat /vegetables /seafood are fresh. It’s worth the slight snarl you may get especially if you can’t speak Cantonese very well. As long as your not a vegetarian and like meat, you’ll want to try out Chinese fondue style hot pot. And don’t mind worn plastic cups .

Decent food; service needs improvement. Definitely something I would only do as a big group. It’s a bit pricey for what it is but you don’t leave hungry. Gratuity is included in the bill which explains their bordering-on-hostile approach to service.

The server with the thick eyebrows is the worst waiter ever! Kept giving us things we didn’t order and scammed us on the beef (real meat)! Spam and spam and more spam is not worth 20 dollars. Giving us attitude for not knowing their menu system when a menu was not given in the first place! And you have to be his helper because he can’t speak to the whole table for some reason … Maybe he should find a different job!
