2019/02/02Three of us went out for dinner, and we landed on Mosaic Southeast Asian Cuisine. It is a relatively new restaurant in southern Richmond Hill, featuring menu items from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietname and more. It seats about 50, and was about half full when we arrived before 6:30 pm. One person in our group is not an adventurous eater, so we stayed with tried and true dishes that we recognized. Since there were three of us, we chose three plates. Our first dish was Broccoli Beef ($12.95). Tender beef, stir fried with brocolli and carrots. For me the broccoli was a little bit overdone, but the flavours were good. The second dish was Royal Pad Thai with Chicken ($11.95). This was a fairly large plate, with lots of noodles. I really like the sweet and sour flavour that tamarind adds to a dish like this. Our last dish was General Tao Chicken ($10.95), which was shown in the menu as a spicier dish. While there was a bit of heat, it was relatively mild, which was fine for the three of us. The batter on the chicken gave each bite a nice chew. Service was pleasant and polite.
