Located in a strip plaza where most of the restaurants are open until the wee hours of the morning, even during the week. This restaurant seems to be the most popular among the late night restaurants in this plaza. Plenty of patrons even very late at night. Note that they DO NOT take credit or debit. Cash only.
This small little restaurant doesn’t stand out really in this area. As it quietly nests in this this elaborate food heaven it’s located in. It really doesn’t catch your eye at first glance. In fact, you may even over look it. But don’t let it’s plain exterior fool you! They offer pretty down to earth Cantonese dishes that will delight your palate! New Choice offers fresh seafood and other authentic Canton style eats that will satisfy any picky eater! There’s definitely nothing fancy about New Choice. But you will find solid Cantonese staple dishes here that are done nicely. I like how plain they are period. As any foodie would agree, that sometimes simplicity is best. They are also opened quite late. So, for all those night owls out there that are looking for some serious Cantonese dishes late at night, you may want to drop by New Choice and get your traditional Cantonese style food fixing!
This is one of my go to spots for takeout. It is open super late, the kitchen is fast as most Chinese establishments are. They only accept cash and when placing an order over the phone it can be difficult because only 1 person really understands english. I love their crispy noodles with beef and black bean sauce!! As well as their shrimp with lobster sauce, its not super oily like some other places nor is it salty. The best part is it is a lot cheaper than other places but tastes better.
This place is interesting. I don’t normally go to any of the restaurants in that part of the plaza. It’s located in a plaza chocked full of restaurants. So many restaurants. We came at the request to eat there from one person in our party. It’s pretty busy at dinner time. There booths and round tables of varying sizes. Depending where you sit, it can be squishy. We were comfortable. We ordered a whole tilapia in a brown liquid with onion and ginger. It was delicious, perfectly cooked. Very reasonably priced. There are a number of different types of fish. This seemed to be the most popular. Watch for bones though. Yum.We also got sweet and sour pork. I LOVE sweet and sour pork and order it in most places. I love how it was made here. The sauce was nice. Not to sweet. The pork came with a lot of vegetables. Like that.We got a beef hot pot. Really tasty. You cook it at the table so you get to eat everything piping hot and cooked just how you like it.We got some greens. I did not like it at all. Come with a whitish sauce. Not my taste.Service was slow. Not the friendliest folks. There is limited above ground parking and a pretty huge underground parking lot. It’s at the Chalmers viva stop.I’ll be back. Was good tasting food, would be back whatlynnate.wordpress.com
One of the best choices for late night, open past 2am. Hand shredded chicken, steam fish, and hot and sour fish filet are my favorites. Recommended. RM
