2017/11/24It has been a few years since I have been to Rifcas, and it was time for another visit. What I really like about a place like this is that they cook the falafel fresh. Yes, it takes a few more minutes, but fresh is best. A bit of crunch on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. Wrapped in all their standard toppings, and you get salty and a bit of bitter, smooth from the tahini and hummus, crunchy from the pickles and the turnip. A good, filling meal. The only thing that would have made it better was freshly baked pita.
EAT HERE IF YOU WANT TO GET SICK.This place is dirty, nasty, they hold dirty stuff with their hands, and then use their dirty hands to make the food, plus the owner is extremely rude.They place the bread bags on the same counters where they put the bread and make the sandwiches .I complained to the owner about this and told him in a very nice way that this is called cross contamination and it shouldn’t be done like this, he said they wipe the bread plastic bags before they put it there so it’s clean! Who the hell wipes plastic bags??? He is a big liar and he’s crazy at the same time to say that.Then I said to him no one wipes bags, and I asked him in a very nice way to make me another sandwich instead of the one they had on the counter touching all the dirty bags, he said in a very rude way that he can’t do that and if I don’t like then I can leave!So I left and here I am writing this review on here and on many other sources.I also contacted the ministry of health to report it @ (905) 762-2090 and you should do the same if you experience health related issues with this restaurant or others.
Its has been long time that I have tried falafel and my craving for Mediterranean food took to Rifca. Restaurant is open till late around 10pm so good place for late dinner. It has a small dinning place and old rustic look. We ordered large falafel wrap and it comes with crispy falafel. Falafel is fried to perfection and tastes really good. There seasame & hot sauce is perfect and goes nice with the wrap. We also ordered baba ganoush with pita and trust me that was the last plate and all the ganoush was over and restaurant was out of it.
