Used to be very good changed ownership not quite so good now ,very oily pasta The pizza was very good!!! Our salad was mixed with all lettuce leaves and fresh lettuce leaves sorry I hate to be negative but people deserve to know what theyre getting for their money!!!!
2017/04/23Vivo seems to be part of a growing trend in the Toronto area for Italian pizza + pasta + salad restaurants. Some of the names that come to mind are Levetto, Libretto, Tosto, and now Vivo. They look somewhat similar inside, with clean modern lines. At Vivo, the accent colour is a bright green. Their pizza oven is wood-fired. The restaurant is not huge, with seating for less that 40. It was about half full at dinner time, so getting a table was not a problem. We started out by sharing a Caesar Salad. It was a good rendition, with not too much dressing, but the dressing that was there was a bit uneven; could have used navy a little bit more tossing. SWMBO ordered the Rigatoni al Ragu. The sauce was meaty and savoury, and the pasta was al dente. I had the Funghi Pizza. I was offered a choice of adding tomato sauce or not. The server recommended adding it, and I agreed. The pizza was just okay. It was a bit overdone (part of the crust was charred), the tomato sauce was more of a pure, rather than a real sauce, and it could have used a few more mushrooms, in my opinion. It tasted good, but I have had better. The service was good: Pleasant, fast, and efficient. If someone were to ask for my recommendation, I would say give it a try. It wasn’t bad, but there is room for improvement.
