After 8 Years of Patronage – Never Again! Worst Customer Service, & ZERO Communication Skills!. We just ate at Aris Place on Roncey for the last time. Ive been going to Aris Place for the last 8 years and recommending it to others for almost as long. I go there with my family for weekend brunch, friends and by myself on occasion. The service is bare bones but to be expected. However, today I was there with my girlfriend/partner and we were showing some mild PDA. After breakfast we went to pay and were dealt with in a uncharacteristically cold manner as one of the owners smugly charged us for 8 refills. 8 REFILLS OF COFFEE….ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? I find it a little bit suspicious that the first time I come in with my partner and show some mild PDA – they enforce this coffee refill rule that has NEVER once been implemented in the past, regardless of what time Ive come! Which led us both to believe…would this have happened if we were a straight couple?! Fortunately, this is not something that enters my mind anymore, but the shift in behaviour from management was odd and uncharacteristically out of place. When we inquired about it, they could not even look us in the eyes as they coldly and unapologetically said Im sorry you feel this way seeming more than happy to see us go. It seemed alarmingly clear that they were willing and happy to lose customers after 8 years of business.
Delicious food and great service.. I loved everything about this place. Relaxed, easygoing atmosphere with absolutely delicious food. The service was great too. 9/10 for me.
Rude service and tasteless food.. I have never been into a place that makes you feel lime you shouldn’t be there. Daily soup is a bunch of leftovers in a pot. They don’t look like they clean their kitchen. The service ales you feel lime eat and get out. Don’t offer more coffee. Cheap cheap cheap.
Consistently good. I have dined at Ari’s dozens of times over the last 10 years and have found the people, food and the service consistently good. The family that run Ari’s are great people and have been wonderful contributors to the neighbourhood over the years.
Who wants to read fine print on Sunday morning?!. I must admit that throughout today’s breakfast, I continually wondered why it was so difficult to get a refill for my cup of coffee. And why the servers never carried a pot of coffee whenever they rarely checked in with their patrons. I discovered only at the end of our meal, after having to seek out the waitress for said refill, and only when paying at the register (an awkward moment), that Aris Place charges for refills. Which is fine, when they tell you ahead of time. It’s not identified on the menu and the server failed to mention this. I was also given the third degree by the gentleman owner when I let him know that our table did not consume a beer that mysteriously appeared on our bill – after it was rung in. The Verdict: Disorganized. Obviously resting on their laurels from being established in the neighborhood. Good breakfast but very poor customer service. We won’t be returning.
Great food!!!!great owner’s!!!!great waitress’s. I feel very at home eating there!!!…they cook great meals,and are very freindly!!!…the server’s are very pleasant…they make you feel so welcome there!!!…..great place!!!…it makes roncesvalles that much better!!!!!
We love Ari’s so much it was one of the reasons we moved to Roncesvalles! The chicken souvlaki dinner with home fries is simply terrific and the staff are all so pleasant efficient and welcoming that it’s always a pleasure to be there.
