Had an amazing experience at Shangrila. This was the only Hakka/Tibet cuisine place that we could find open at 10:00 pm (as most places close by that time). It could’ve been the cold weather or the fact that we were really hungry, but we finished whatever was put in front of us and we ordered a LOT for two people. The portions were filling, the food was tasty and spicy, exactly like how we wanted it. The momos could have used some more filling but they were at par with what is generally served in nearby restaurants. The service was quick and the prices were reasonable (more or less).Special mention to a Garlic based chutney. It was the most amazing and extremely spicy chutney I’ve had in the longest time. It came with Spicy Fries but worked well with Chowmein and Manuchrian too! This one condiment was so good that for the entiretyof the meal, I did not serve myself another condiment.
Looking for Veg momos, we found this treasure serving very tasty veg momos and Indian Chinese food. Mouthwatering momos and lovely people serving make it little more better.Had Chilli Momos at next visit, awesome man. Hats off to the chef and sweet owner.Dropping the rating from 4.5 to 3.5 as the quality has dropped and now I do not feel like going there so often.
Horrible service. Not worth it.. While the food is not bad have to give this place one star. Was recently there and sat down. A server came to my table …seemed upset that I came in at that time to ruin her talk with her friends (she and two others were sitting and talking and munching on something) ordered food and told her that wanted to bring friends in for a future visit after having been there once in the past..she seemed indifferent. She went to supposedly give my order to the chef..after waiting forty minutes was finally served Tibetan dumplings.Keep in mind that the place was EMPTY at the time..totally EMPTY. In the meantime I told here in a nice way..if the food was ready..she said it takes 15 minutes to prepare. Wondering where the extra 25 minutes went. When she went to sit down with her friends again i asked her if she could bring me a soft drink. She said, begrudgingly, Do you want me to bring it with the food? You could tell she didn’t want to get up again from her talk with friends. When the food finally arrived, I asked her if she was the owner..she said yes.But asked, why do you want to know if I’m the owner..very rude.. ( I wanted to speak with the owner to voice my concerns) Later, before I left she said she wasn’t the owner.) Either she is the owner and has little regard for her guests or she’s a poor server pretending to be the owner. Sad but true. While the food was good here, the customer service was appalling.
This restaurant serves the most delicious Tibetian food I have ever tasted. From the appetizing momos to the spicy potato fries to soups to the meat dishes, everything is so delicious. The owner/server is absolutely amazing and is extremely friendly. The ambience and decor are traditional. The overall theme is kinda cool e.g., Buddha statue and alcohol occupying the same space. Overall – a must-go place. I think it is closed on Mondays.
Friendly, cheap, delicious. Really relaxed vibe. Don’t miss the momos.
Great food every time and the owners/staff are super nice and low key. A true favourite that I take all my friends to when they are visiting. The hand made pasta soup, momos, etc are all awesome.
Best Tibetan. This is my favourite Tibetan restaurant in the city. The service is great, the food and prices are really excellent. The crispy cauliflower is wonderful, Tibetan vegetable curry is delicious, and my favourite so far has been the Manchurian chicken. Lots of delicious food at fantastic prices.
