How the hell does this have a 2.9 rating when this is HANDS DOWN THE BEST POUTINE IN OTTAWA? Seriously! I’m a big fan of the dark, rich mushroom gravy and the way Jack layers his fresh cut fries with this heavenly gravy and cheesecurds (seriously, at least two layers!) is INCREDIBLE. Best poutine, no competition.
Truly the best poutine in Ottawa!! My friends and family always gets a poutine there when they can. Plus, they gave you more than in any other restaurants and the poutine is really good! The man working there is really friendly. I love to eat poutine from there!! How did they got only 2.9 in overall?! That’s not true!!! Very great place !
Jacks is actually pretty amazing he never seems to fail me!! I enjoy the food here very much that me and my family often order from there during the spring / summer season , I love how he takes the time to make sure all his customers are satisfied and the prices are amazing you really get what you pay for a decent amount at a great price and a satisfied tummy! , I love all of his food there and i will be back for more for as long as he stays there 🙂 i by far believe jacks is the best in down town area and definitely recommend you give it a try.ps. it might not be for everybody but i honestly do enjoy this place very much and i hope you will too!
Jack’s chip wagon has delicious food and their prices are fantastic for what you get. If you’e near Sandy Hill ad want a great burger, poutine, or both, this is the place to go. 10 bucks for bacon chesseburger and chip truck fries? No fast food place matches that or comes close.This place has been feeding Sandy Hill for years; there’s a reason it’s still here, It is delicious and very well priced.
I moved to Ottawa in 2015 and because how conveniently located Jack’s Chip Wagon was to my apartment I tried it out. It was an amazing experience for a Poutine novice. During the winter I was bummed out that it was closed so I tried several other Poutineries. Some in the market, some in Vanier, some next to Rideau Center. Alas, I missed Jack’s! Fast forward to 2016… and after I tried 9 other poutine places, Jack’s is the only place I’ll get my poutine. It’s really an art and Jack’s Poutine just comes together with the consistency of the gravy, squeaky cheese and perfect fries. You have not had poutine until you’ve had Jack’s Poutine.
Alright, here is the complete truth. My husband and I like to consider ourselves quite the foodies. We try a place multiple times before I give them a truthful review. But Jacks, is a, ‘love at first BITE’ GEM! The first time I visited Ottawa last summer, my husband took me to Jacks. He told me it was a hidden dive, and it was amazing! When I moved to Ottawa it was during the winter, and Jacks was closed for the season. I was heartbroken! In the interim, my husband and I tried about 15 different and reputable poutines and NOTHING compared or hit the spot quite like Jacks. When the warm weather came back, I was so anticy for a legit poutine that I looked up his number and asked him when he would reopen. Jacks food is phenomenal! And it’s top quality, every time! The secret is in the fries and the gravy my friends. Chunky thick cut fries, fried in the right oil at just the right temp! Spread and layered with real SQUEAKY cheese curds, and the true secret; JACKS VEGGIE GRAVY You and your family NEED to try this place. It’s legit THE BEST POUTINE IN TOWN!
